While you’re scarfing down your 2nd Holiday Hot Dog, take the time to remember the fallen Hero’s of our armed forces. This Memorial Day also marks the 40th anniversary of my 1st MLB start. Pictured here is the 1st of 2 Home Runs I hit that day in 1985.
Happy Memorial Day.
@bradfo Kinda strange how the tail wags the dog these days…
It used to be the TEAM that would tell the player where to play, when to play, what spot in the order they hit and where to be at what time.
I like Devers but he ain’t Brooks Robinson at 3rd base.
@john_jastremski It didn’t suck!
I got to add my opinion when we came back from commercial. I said he reminded me of a quarterback running an option play at Michigan.
Th MLB playoff system sucks. The division winners sit around for a week and don’t play. Then they can’t get out of the first round. The Dodgers found a way (this year) to sneak past the Pads… Now they’re awake and nobody’s gonna stop ‘em.
Nice to know that not one guy on the Fox Postgame show knows the rule on the Manny Machado ply at second base.
The runner creates his own baseline and literally TRIES TO GET HIT WITH THE THROW. Safe every time.
@jdullea@19fredlynn@fenwaypark@RedSox Fred could not have been more accommodating and friendly to my Buddy who has Idolized him (as I did) since he was a kid. I crashed the Legends Suite and Fred spent a lot of time with my friend. Just a genuinely nice guy!
@Razzball OMG. I actually played right field in Old Comiskey in game one of a makeup double header and I counted 42 people including venders… I thought that was bad. Wow!
I haven’t kept up with the chatter, but why was Noah Lyles permitted to compete with Covid? I remember a day not too long ago when a positive test could shut down an entire team, event or match.
I got the chance to interview Bill Walton in the Trailblazers Championship season of ‘77. I was doing it for my High School newspaper. I was beyond nervous. Walton couldn’t have been more gracious. RIP Bill.
