If Hospitality don't get a VAT reduction in next weeks Budget, The Chancellor @Jeremy_Hunt will knowingly be allowing 1000's businesses go bust, meaning 10,000's job losses.
Decimation on his watch.
Please don’t let the headline ‘Chancellor freezes beer duty to save pubs’ be the narrative from the next budget announcement. It will mean absolutely no benefit to pubs whatsoever!
Let’s be clear, if the chancellor freezes beer duty, prices in pubs will still go up in April. Pubs will not benefit, you will not benefit…we will still see other prices go up across the board and pubs are no longer in any position to swallow this! The only way is to #CutVAT
Blows my mind that folk are paying £2 for a tin of beans and near on £5 for Heinz ketchup at the moment but f@&k me, if you try and put 25p on a pint!!
‘THIS IS AN EMERGENCY’ - MANCHESTER’S HOSPITALITY SCENE CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT TO REDUCE VAT TO 10%
Our hospitality scene is in crisis.
Restaurants across the country are closing at an alarming rate, and many chefs, owners and operators across Manchester are ‘on a cliff edge’.
They are calling for a reduction in VAT to 10% from the current crippling rate of 20%, more than double the average seen across Europe.
It would ease the pressure they’re facing from rocketing energy bills and the cost of raw materials.
Your favourite restaurant could close tomorrow.
To stop that happening, watch our film and sign the petition here: https://t.co/gzssQUTGiI
Top political analytics are now predicting a General Election on the 14th November.
Another 10 months of this and Hospitality will be decimated.
I urge MPs from all sides, to rise above politics and do the right thing.
VAT reduction or decimation.
Time for change. Time to change the wheel. Hospitality is united once again.
Retweet, sign, share and then share again.

The Government have failed the Hospitality sector.
Failed to help with a VAT reduction.
Failed to get a grip on the big Energy Co's who have leeched off the sector.
Failed to save businesses. Failed to save jobs.

10% VAT FOR HOSPITALITY NOW
The Government needs to Stop sitting on its hands and letting great businesses, fantastic operators & employers (never-mind lovely people & their teams) go under while they DO NOTHING
Wake Up @RishiSunak@Keir_Starmer@Sacha_Lord@UKHospKate
Two high profile closures today.
Both @simonrim and @TonyRoddUK are at the top of their game and it’s heartbreaking to see.
Sadly, I believe this is the tip of the iceberg.
Hospitality URGENTLY needs a reduction in VAT.
