new video.
lets chat about all these issues with the 70MM IMAX projection of OPPENHEIMER and what the real film experience really means for audiences.
link below in thread.
I recently walked away from one of the most lucrative brand deals I’ve ever received because the idea and negotiations were awful.
I’m sure a bunch of creators would have loved it (another issue for another day) but it was 30+ emails trying to understand what they wanted, me finally realizing the idea was not aligned to what I do, and then a bunch of lies/BS about budgets through some PR agency that finally led me to simply ask for so much money they had to say no.
Then I asked to continue conversations about alternative ideas for us to work together and they ghosted.
It’s not that I don’t like paid partnerships I just don’t like bad ideas or being taken advantage of.
We seriously need more brands reaching out directly to creators while being transparent about money, creative, and expectations.
They also need to understand we all talk to each other. We know what you’re offering everyone so trying to pull a fast one is pointless.
If you want to work with me I’m right here. Cut the shit and we can make something great.
This episode is one of the best from @ColinandSamir and deserves SO much more attention. Really, really valuable information in here for creators. So cool to see these worlds collide!

Before I owned a rangefinder, I assumed that they wouldn’t fit into my workflow and actually hinder my creative process instead.
I could not have been more wrong.
I made a video to hold myself accountable to those thoughts & make an example of the fact that it’s okay to change your mind about gear. Check it out below.
