Three Yorugba men arrested for robbing and killing their Igbo neighbor, his wife and then threw their two children into a nearby river.

The suspects, identified as Hammed Akinbami, Akinbami Ojo and Padonu Edward, all from Oloba village, were arrested by the police.

An Enugu East Magistrate’s Court sitting in Nkwo Nike, Enugu State, has remanded a 45-year-old man, Ani Chidi, in prison custody after he was arraigned by the Enugu State Police Command over a video allegedly showing an attack on members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) during a political meeting in Obuoffia Awkunanaw.

Chidi was arraigned on Monday on three counts bordering on cybercrime and alleged criminal defamation under Section 24(2)(a)&(c)(i) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015, as amended in 2024.

According to the charge sheet obtained by our correspondent, marked MEN/151c/2026 and brought before Chief Magistrate F. E. Chukwu (Chief Magistrate Grade 1), the police accused the defendant of publishing and circulating footage of the September 12, 2026 attack across social media platforms and online media outlets.

The prosecution further alleged that Chidi falsely accused three individuals — Ani Nnabuike, Solomon Ifeanyi and Monday Anninwe — of being members of the armed group that invaded the NDC meeting.

Livinus Nwosu said the Nigeria Police stopped him on his way to take an emergency asthma patient to the hospital because his tinted permit did not have a medical attachment.

*JARRETT TENEBE'S APC CARRIES OUT ITS THREAT TO SHOOT ADC MEMBERS IN IGUEBEN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA*

The Igueben Local Government Chairman has just led a team of gun totetting assailants to attack the entourage of Kenneth Imasuangbon and the Edo Central ADC Senatorial candidate, Hon Herbeta Okonofua. The hoodlum shot fatally at a young man, Jerry Oliha, from ADC ward 6, at the premises of the Enogie of Igueben. The young man has been rushed to the Irrua Specialist Hospital , where doctors are battling to save his life. This shooting is the third time the entourage was shot at today. First at ward 4, and then, at ward 5, of the Local Government Area.

Reports confirm that this is the climax of the series of violent attacks against ADC members and infrastructure that the APC has recently vowed Jarrett Tenebe's threat to unleash AK 47 on Edo people was after all premeditated. Attacks have been reported at Etsako East, Owan West and Owan East, before this one in Irrua. In each of the cases, they have been coordinated by the Local Government Chairmen of those places on the strength of Jarrett Tenebe.

Bullets have been recovered at the scene of the attack and handed over to the police and the Enogie. Canopies, chairs, musical instruments worth millions of naira were all destroyed at the palace premises.

ADC will come out with a comprehensive report on this unfortunate policy of violence of the APC shortly. The DPO of the Igueben Local Government Area has been informed and involved in the unfortunate incident.
