Steven Calder

London based Scot.

@1ryanhilton @RichSCawley That’s the biggest worry for me. I know he’s looking for combinations and a selection that works but I’m not sure you find it with the amount of changes he’s making from game to game and how the team can build any cohesion.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@Alex_CAFC47 Yeah sorry, this is a joke, be polite. He scored the goal that took us up.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@CHATHMuseum As a proud Scot, that has lived in London for 20 years, and season ticket holder at the Valley, this is fantastic. Coincidentally I sit directly behind a few of the Scotland Charlton Supporters club at the Valley.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@ValleyFloydFred I read enough in the My Only Desire piece on Charlie Methven to realise he is an astute business person with integrity. No doubt he played a big part in where the club is now. If folk wish to believe the rhetoric in a Netflix documentary from years ago not a lot you can do.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@connorfawdry Yup. Best player on the pitch today. Closely followed by TC and Doc. Massively deserving of his goal. Still gutted we didn’t hand for, what would have been, a deserved win.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@Terry19764 @KDSouthLDN He’s had no pre season. He’s not fully up to speed yet but nice try. Worrying signs for the Rs if your players are playing games, that you could quite conceivably have lost, in 2nd gear.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@ValleyFloydFred @smit112 From what I’ve read, amazing shot stopper but not adept at coming off his line. I wouldn’t rule Mannion out just yet.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@cllrsammurray @supertanskiii Sorry but this is just utter nonsense. I travel on the tube 3-5 days a week and carriages that look like that in the image are extremely rare. This notion being promoted by folk who don’t live here that London is some sort of hellhole is getting very tiring.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@O2AcademyBrix why does this get sent by ticketmaster for every gig at Brixton Academy? It’s incorrect. You can use the ticketmaster app and everyone doesn’t have to have their own ticket.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@ValleyFloydFred He’s been great. Commands his box well, great at dealing with crosses and is a good shot stopper. Yes, he has a very good defence in front of him but to not give him the opportunity would be ludicrous.

@RoughTrade Album - Born to run. Song - Out in the street.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@Redrobinsretro1 Interested in spares. Thanks.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@KDSouthLDN Completely agree with this. He’s added a bit of steel to his game this season too. Up there for player of the season for me too. Very much the heartbeat of the team, along with Lloyd Jones.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@HLTCO He’s putting that accent on. He’s from the west coast and decided to go all east coast for a laugh. Absolutely sensational stuff.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@Redrobinsretro1 Red Admiral. An absolute classic.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@maritimeLDN @CAFCofficial @wwfcofficial That’ll be Sweet Caroline that was first played and sung by Northern Ireland and then England…no thanks. Dreadful.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@LewisStubbs1302 @ParodyCharlton NJ himself recently alluded to it being the players who resort to hoofball and that they are not coached to do so.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@LewisStubbs1302 @ParodyCharlton I still don’t think he should be sacked. He should be given the opportunity to correct his mistakes, sign better players, create a midfield that can control a game and find a playing identity.

[Steven Calder @stevencalder76]

@LewisStubbs1302 @ParodyCharlton This is the key point that I struggle with. Completely get that we can’t continue to sack managers every 5 minutes but the success rate of those signed in the summer, in a top 4 budget, is not great and the replacements for Dobson and May are nowhere near adequate.
