I've heard thousands of climate denial arguments over the last few decades. But do you know they all fall into one of 5 categories?

1. Climate isn't changing

2. Humans aren't responsible

3. The impacts aren't bad

4. We can't fix it

5. It's fake

Too often we get encouraged when someone goes from category 1 to 2; or 2 to 3; or even 3 to 4. At least they admit it's real and human-caused, we think!

But I don't get encouraged. Because I know that every type of argument above has the same goal: to delay climate action as long as possible.

The only way forward is to abandon this list entirely. If someone brings up an argument, answer it briefly then pivot immediately to how climate solutions will give us a better future, and we all want that.

🚨 WE MUST REJOIN THE EU TO MAKE EATING IN BRITAIN SAFER AGAIN.

Brexit didn’t just put up trade barriers.

It took Great Britain 🇬🇧 out of the EU’s integrated food-safety system and gave successive governments the freedom to deregulate, weaken border controls and open our market to food produced under standards we would not permit here.

Now Britain is increasingly reliant on imported food while our own producers are squeezed out.

And we are seeing the consequences of treating food regulation as red tape.

One person has died and hundreds have been infected in a Salmonella outbreak that UKHSA says may be linked to imported eggs. The FSA says there is no evidence UK-produced eggs are affected.

This demonstrates exactly why food standards, traceability, surveillance and effective border controls matter.

Food deregulation isn’t freedom.

When it goes wrong, people get sick and people can die.

Britain needs to get back inside Europe’s food-safety architecture, restore frictionless trade with our largest and safest neighbouring market, and ultimately rejoin the EU.
