Now it has been over a month and I'm still waiting for my HHGs to be delivered. Not sure if anyone else sees a problem with that. Kids are in school with minimal supplies other than buying more and still sleeping on a cot.
Really don't understand the difference between a Sr. Officer and a Sr. NCO. Moved from Alaska to JBLM Aug 10. Got a call that my HHGs are ready for delivery on 19 Aug but I didn't have a house yet due to minimal housing available within my BAH.
I still find it amusing that leaders want to have a quick meeting after we salute the flag at 0630. They say it will only take a few minutes, next thing you know it's been 30 mins. Thanks for taking time away from out PT session.
There is no better feeling when you get to your new unit as a 1SG, and your Battalion if forward but you Commander takes the time to email you, to welcome you to the unit and company. Also wants to schedule a VTC so we can get to know each other.
There are always huge advantages when moving to new locations. New sights, learning new things, and meeting nee people. But one thing never changes and that is trying to find a place to live where we feel comfortable with our kids loving the area.
Excited to be back in Washington. Went to start inprocessing today at JBLM, name was not on the roster even though I signed in last night and was told to write my name down on the roster. Was told to come back tomorrow. Not a good first impression.
Tomorrow is the last day in @1_5Bobcats and @11thAirborneDiv. It has been amazing 2 years serving with these Arctic warriors. I am going to miss the long summers and cold winters. Mayne the Army will send me back for a 3rd time. π€
