Pearl Harbor accelerated full wartime mobilization, but “Depression on Dec. 6, gone Dec. 8” is simply not how the economics worked.

@lordlorcanlocan @deesnider The carriers weren’t mysteriously “sent away.” Enterprise was ferrying Marine fighters to Wake, Lexington was ferrying planes to Midway, and Saratoga was in San Diego after an overhaul. Those missions are documented in Navy records. Battleship Row was their normal anchorage.

@fractalman237 @deesnider That PNAC “new Pearl Harbor” line is not evidence they planned 9/11. It was about how a major crisis could accelerate military reform. The 9/11 plot was already underway by 1999, before that 2000 report. Eerie hindsight ≠ proof of an inside job.

We would regularly mock that shit and laugh about the whole goddamn thing. Everyone knew we were there for oil, poppy fields, and lithium mines. 9/11 was a convenient excuse.

@drumersviee @deesnider We went after Afghanistan and the Taliban and destroyed their government and we did the same with Iraq who had literally nothing to do with 9/11 whatsoever. That created extremists and led to the creation of ISIS. We could’ve easily taken out Al qaeda but we wanted the countries.
