Biden seems to have generated enough voter search interest to win FL, GA, OH, but he looks very vulnerable in NC and WI. My earlier read of Google Trends had indicated the candidate who wins any 3 of these 5 states is likely to be POTUS.
Will Biden become the first winning candidate who lost Google Trends? If so, it will likely be because of his recent search performance in FL, GA, and OH. He has also performed well in PA, adding to his momentum. That said, Trump remains the clear winner of Google Trends.
While historical data lacks the hourly granularity of the past 7 days chart, there's no doubt about the correlation between winning Google Trends and the presidency. Biden did not beat Trump on search performance the final 7 days of the campaign, but he did make up some ground.
@grantbloodworth I've loved the switch to staying within walking distance (or at most a few public transit stops) from my office or co-work. I've done this for the last 11 years in Singapore, India, Thailand, Cambodia, and Hong Kong. Will try it next year in the USA.
Proud to drop off my ballot early today with my family today and officially cast my vote for @joebiden and @kamalaharris so we can build back better. Nevadans have so many opportunities between now and election day to cast their vote and I urge everyone to make a plan to vote.
Google Trends historically favors the challenger VP and was not a strong predictor of the Electoral College result in the last 3 elections. Still, the voter interest shift toward Pence after Oct. 1st is something we've haven't seen before for an incumbent VP.
