I hope the commercialized nature of the third round tee times won’t result in noticeable advantages for the final groups at the U.S. Open. The wind will be down for their rounds. Let’s hope the USGA is prepared to let the course bake out by the afternoon to where it won’t matter.
@NUCLRGOLF@JoshACarpenter Not great; most player-caddy convos about key shots / strategy are already shown. The broadcast crew most often recaps the convo’s well enough as is. Casual fans won’t appreciate it enough to care (not at all a bad thing). Fewer shots will be shown; things will feel slower.
@JakubManuka@jhaller61@KylePorterNS@DataGolf Luke Clanton. He did just as well in many tournaments when he was still an amateur. And data backed it up at the time. Koivon appears more prepared to embrace the grind of pro golf. Still, you never know how he’ll start performing when it’s now his job, not just an opportunity.
@thisalyfestyle@LeBron__SZN__@LegionHoops Yes, Lebron played poorly. But, it would have taken the cavs a miracle to win that finals. Spurs were far and away the better team, and no one was shocked when they swept the Cavs.
Present time, everyone expected Wemby & the Spurs to WIN this series. It’s just not the same.
@Megatron605@GolfDigest And that’s your opinion.
What’s rare is great until they’re gone. And then it’s rare. No one is appointing Rory as one of the greatest ever. Still, he’s got a lot of time to prove things…
@shanebacon Maybe…still TNT’s The Match series (11 live events) included Scottie & Rory in ‘24, and nothing since then. Clearly that’s NOT the model for production companies for live golf events.
I feel like a post-production model would work a lot better.
@ForePlayPod Absolutely. He’s been trending for months, and his newfound approach to the game (driven by passion) gives a player like Brooks all the confidence he need to find success. Watch out Shinnecock.
@Belle0802991251@j_stone3@NUCLRGOLF@CNBC@TheDomino BIG difference: Rory has publicly stated he’ll cut back on the number of events he’ll play, where he’s really just focused on the majors. He’ll reach the 15 minimum Tour threshold. Those still on LIV might play 10 events because they are part of a failing business model.
@barstoolsports Soooo…
What’s the value in Bryson’s youtube channel if he chooses NOT to try and compete against the best golfer’s in the world?
Truly, where does any value lie in a major champ-turned-youtuber?
@Bratler_3117@Joecattle101@MyGolfSpy The money is too much. LIV has proved pro golf can be unsustainable when an irrational actor tries to buy a spot with no demand.
The PGA Tour has focused on combating LIV ever since: a league whose failed attempt at credibility has destroyed the game’s monetary scale.
@Bratler_3117@Joecattle101@MyGolfSpy This is so incredibly dissimilar to the PGA Tour. LIV Golf does NOT have 1.5 billion in untouched cash. In reality, their funding was just cut off by their only financial backer.
LIV has lost 5 billion dollars since its inception. No logical business invests in this.
@ForePlayPod@katiemillerpod Remember, he was one of the heads of the lawsuit against the Tour when he signed with LIV. Not so sure he’s at all eager to face the music.
@ForePlayPod@katiemillerpod These comments are an objectively ridiculous mindset from a pro athlete who’s reached the height of their sport. He knows many on the Tour will hold grudges with the nature of his departure. He’s doesn’t yet want to admit to facing any of that.
