I really enjoyed focusing on technology through the lens of it changing our society in a disruptive manner. The assignments were interesting and made me think about tech in a way I haven’t before. #DigiTechF22A
What I found valuable was being able to dive deeper into topics I am passionate about. The papers were challenging but in the right way because it forced me to dive deeper and think critically about forms of technology that I use everyday. #DigiTechF22A
@DaveyJalen I’ve explored the idea of digital technology becoming “too fast” in papers and I completely agree. Our online world is becoming so fast so how do we get any faster? Instant gratification has become so normal that waiting for anything online seems strange
@NYH1820 I think the idea of a smart tattoo is amazing as it will serve a purpose past something like a chip. The chip has a very bad name and it seems extreme, however something that is already socially acceptable like a tattoo has a better chance of being adopted
@sarah_a_124 Hi Sarah! I agree that online will eventually be the way to create connections, however I think that time is far in the future. I think the pandemic showed everyone that online is good on paper, but making those lasting in person connections is superior
Cryptocurrency has seen an explosion in popularity in the past couple of years but still isn’t reliable. It needs more time and for more people to believe in it before it holds any real value. Getting used to any new tech is hard but a new currency is even harder #DigiTechF22A
My EDTP will be revolving around Instagram and how comparison on social media is the thief of self-worth. I like the original quote by Theodore Roosevelt and feel like I can expand on it and bring some new things to the table while focusing specially on Instagram #DigiTechF22A
@ErikLopezGonza2 I definitely agree that fake news is common online. Anyone can post their opinion and no one is going to check if what they say is true or not. Although social media is a great place to get news from, you should take everything with a grain of salt.
@BRITNEYSPRADO TikTok has been home to relatable, casual, short-form content which exploded during the pandemic. Anyone could record a video from their phone which I think was a big reason for TikTok's boom in popularity recently.
@KPapadopolo Cancel culture definitely exploded over the pandemic as we had a lot of time online which led to people digging up some pretty bad stuff. Some of the "canceling" wasn't deserved, but a lot of it was especially with people's views on the political movements happening at the time.
Social media has created an environment where we are pressured to put our best foot forward. We are flooded with the best version of our friends on our timelines, making our lives feel lesser when we aren't at their standard. #DigiTechF22A https://t.co/4QeWNMVluy
