TSUNAMI WARNING IN EFFECT
A powerful M8.7 earthquake struck 350 miles SW of Bering Island, Komandorski this afternoon, triggering tsunami watches, warnings, and advisories across the North Pacific.
A Tsunami warning has been issued for Hawai'i. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said a tsunami had been generated by the quake that could cause damage along the coastlines of all the Hawaiian islands. “Urgent action should be taken to protect lives and property,” the warning stated. The first waves were expected around 7 p.m. Tuesday local time.
Alerts have also been issued for California and Alaska and the entire west coast of the U.S. has been alerted to watch for signs of dangerous waves and parts of Canada, Russia and Japan are also under tsunami alerts. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the earthquake hit just before 1.30 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time near the coast of Kamchatka in Russia’s far east.
Stay safe everyone.
Going on a wave hunt in Holland is almost an art-form, it is not world-class beachies, or heavy shifting, thick-lipped juggernauts. It's windy, it's cold, isolated. But every now and then, there's flashes of brilliance. Full gallery, here: https://t.co/yES7i5KETY

“Thus, thinking is at the center of the learning enterprise and not a mere add-on...even when we create opportunities for thinking...students’ thinking may still be invisible to us. To make sure thinking isn’t left to chance...we must also make their thinking visible.” -MTV book
