I was pleased to visit the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) in Jakarta. It remined me of my previous work with regional standby forces (EASF).

I was honoured to have a working lunch with Ambassador Santo Darmosumarto, Director General for Asia, Pacific, and Africa at Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Our discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and the African Union Commission.

During a recent visit to Jakarta, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bala Kumar Palaniappan, Director of the External Relations Division at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat, exploring closer cooperation between the African Union (AU) and ASEAN.

During his visit to the Republic of Seychelles, . Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson AUC, visited two key institutions: the Seychelles Coast Guard, the Regional Coordination Operations Centre (RCOC) & the National Information Sharing & Coordination Centre.

At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Seychelles, . Dr. Patrick Herminie, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, . Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, attended the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Seychelles on 29th June 2026.

Honoured to have held a constructive meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Ethiopia, H.E. Faizal Chery Sidharta.

Our discussion focused on the ongoing cooperation between the African Union and the Republic of Indonesia.

Our exchange focused on the African Union–Spain relationship and Spain’s cooperation in support of AU priorities.

Conducted a productive meeting with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) partnership team.
We exchanged insights into major flagship initiatives that are set to drive impactful policy across the continent.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Frank Fan, the new Deputy CEO of Huawei, Ethiopia Branch, and his colleague.
Our discussion focused on how technology can support inclusive, people-centred development in line with Africa’s Agenda 2063.

The opening of the AU’s 52nd Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee in Addis Ababa is a clear signal: Africa’s integration agenda requires strong domestic resource mobilisation and African unity.

I had a highly productive meeting in Addis Ababa with H.E. Ambassador Javier Niño Pérez, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the African Union and the EU delegation team.
Our priority: advancing AU-EU collaboration.

Just wrapped up a productive round of discussions in New Delhi on the outcome document for the India–Africa Forum Summit declaration, ahead of the May 2026 Summit.

The conversations reaffirmed a strong Africa-India cooperation.
