@Azadi80 You may feel differently if it was 32 year old wife, daughter, sister, etc. that was just murdered by this person. The police took action to prevent more victims. Tragic situation and I’m sorry for this woman’s family but glad there were no other victims.
@Dr_Gavin_Brewis What if she got past the officers, armed with two knives, in one of the most crowded places in the country? How many other victims are you willing to accept? The police had the responsibility to stop the threat. Her actions caused her death. Unfortunate, but true.
@SwingLeftBR This woman stabbed two people, killing one. She is now in one of the most crowded places in the United States with people all around her. She starts waving two knives and charges toward the police. They needed to take whatever action needed to stop her unfortunately.
@RepJayapal I would rather have a system that keeps the government as far away from my healthcare as possible. No government has EVER improved anything they have touched. They can’t because they add bureaucracy.
@PattyMurray If it was my money then I would be able to control how it was invested and couldn’t be used to pay for benefits for others. It stopped being my money as soon as it was withheld from my paycheck.
@follard I’m disagreeing with the math, but this leaves out the importance of being debt free in terms of stress and financial flexibility. If you lose your job having a debt free house takes a lot of stress off. Personally I prefer a balanced approach. Pay extra AND invest.
@Owennfa The 401k puts you in control, not your employer. Pensions were not portable, want to change jobs, you leave it behind. Want to increase your savings, can’t. Want to change how it is invested, can’t. Need to borrow against it for an emergency expense, can’t. Flexibility wins.
@RepJayapal There is no worse of a dystopian world than one where the government controls your access to healthcare. Canada freezing the bank accounts of lawful protestors showed us that. Medicare for all is a trap.
@jeremyct Social Security was never meant to be your sole income in retirement. You should be using those 40 years to save for retirement. This is not a surprise.
@neoavatara I remember newspaper headlines wishing death and denial of hospitalization for the unvaccinated. Many of the vaccinated felt morally superior and yes they were heartless.
@DrNeilStone Most people I know simply want to be able to have open discussions about the necessity and timing of vaccines. When either side shuts that discussion down it creates distrust. No debate was allowed for the Covid vax so there is a lot of distrust of all vaxs now.
@alexboge The problem with this evidence is the sample pool is skewed. There is no data from people who had Covid, vaccinated or not, that never sought treatment. That invalidates your 10x lower death claim. Studies are limited by the data quality.
@tylerblack32 Has any medicine ever been recalled after being determined to be safe?
Rather than insult people, try understanding their concerns. Even if you believe their concerns are unfounded, as a doctor you should treat them with respect and value them being engaged in their health.
@middle_class_us I disagree, most people today don’t want a starter home because they see others with granite countertops, finished basements, bonus rooms, and they want it too. They don’t want to “settle” for a nice house they can improve, they want the luxury house immediately.
@arianajasmine__ When you constantly need to remind someone that you are a Rhodes Scholar and have two doctorates it is usually because you are insecure or you have something to hide so you flash your credentials to try to impress others.
