I’ve just now gotten around to reading @FrancesWiddows1’s statement of claim in her law suit against @uLethbridge. Of all the appalling actions performed by the university administrators, I think the two most despicable are (1) *congratulating* the students who mobbed Widdowson, and (2) the utterly creepy “cleansing” ceremony the school performed to sanitize their premises of (as they apparently see it) ideologically diseased interlopers. The entire school comes off as some kind of cultish compound trying to punish heretics.
the @uwestern track & field head coach who recruited this American dude to compete against Cdn women is Caroline Erhardt
Erhardt’s own claim to fame: being the Cdn women’s triple-jump champ, with a distance of 14.03m
the corresponding male record is more than *10 feet* longer
Canada's new national security strategy is a plan about plans. Nearly every section promises the government "will produce a plan," and the substance is left to five sub-policies still to come.
It pledges to increase Canada's sovereign intelligence capabilities, collection and analysis, and to strengthen CSIS and CSE and modernize their authorities. What that means in practice is left open. Does sovereign collection mean a foreign human intelligence service? Which new authorities? The plan doesn't say.
A strategy also has to tell us what we are protecting and from whom. This one names no threat actors. It commits to being transparent with Canadians about the seriousness of the threats, yet it won't say who they are.
The Indo-Pacific reads as a region made up only of partners, with no threats in it at all.
It puts economic security first, deliberately, without ever defining it. If you can't say what economic security is, it's hard to know how you protect it.
And it leaves out municipalities where they matter most. Information-sharing on foreign interference and election security is extended to provinces, territories and Indigenous governments. Cities and towns, where much influence work actually happens, are not on the list.
The sub-policies are where this will succeed or fail. I'll be judging them on their substance, and I hope they fill these gaps. As it stands, the plan falls short.
John Carpay came with receipts. 🧾
When @ryanjespersen decided to fact-check him live on race-based sentencing in Canada, John was ready.

I was actually really surprised to discover that the number of foreign workers in Canada is *higher than it's ever been.* All Carney has done is slow the intake (and even that's still pretty high).

I don't think there should be any "protected" adult groups singled out by the law. That goes for indigenous, trans, gay, women, men.. All citizens should be protected and respected equally and none singled out for special status.
Most people are unaware of the excesses of the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal and the laundry list of outrageous cases it rules on.
This is not a normal use of taxpayer dollars. It's a system being weaponized against everyday people to enforce a narrow set of progressive ideals.
@kateemarland explains on @WDiminishment:
At a recent event where I spoke at a community center, a group of “pro-Palestine” militiamen appeared outside to protest and disrupt the event, along with agitated older white women who entered the venue to do the same on the inside. The organizers and I had arranged extensive security because these same “activists” had spent days trying to get the event canceled and openly vowed to do whatever they could to stop it from happening. As I walked in, a few masked “activists” in keffiyehs whispered, "is this the genocide guy?" I turned to them and said, "hi gentlemen, thanks for coming." One replied, "Free Palestine." I responded, "I agree, including from Hamas."
Once I began speaking, several disruptors engaged in a steady stream of whispering, side conversations, eye-rolling, posturing, and juvenile antics. I stopped and asked one of the women why she and her comrades were behaving like children. She admitted she knew nothing about me or my work but felt qualified to declare that if I were truly Palestinian, my Nakba-surviving grandparents would be rolling in their graves. I asked the agitators to be respectful, explaining that while security could remove them, I would rather they listen to what I actually had to say, instead of relying on misinformation spread about me by the local DSA, BDS, and other "pro-Palestine" groups.
What enraged me most was their reaction when I spoke about my family in Gaza, the relatives we have lost to Israeli airstrikes during the post-October 7 war, and the destruction of both my childhood homes. These white “activists” laughed and smirked as I described some of the most painful experiences of my life and the sense of personal loss that inspires my work. They showed shocking indifference toward the very Palestinians on whose behalf they claim to be acting.
I confronted some of the disruptors directly and asked why they get to define what it means to be "pro-Palestine," despite knowing nothing about me and showing no interest in the trauma my family has endured. Some stormed out shouting "Free Palestine." Others fell silent. One person, despite strongly disagreeing with me, acknowledged that my views were rooted in personal loss and genuine concern for my people and shook my hand before leaving.
On my way out, a pseudo-journalist known for glorifying Hamas and "the resistance" tried to ambush me with questions about whether I was paid by weapons manufacturers, oil companies, or, as he brilliantly misstated it, the "Arab Union Emirates." It struck me how absurd it is that I needed three heavily armed security officers and a bodyguard simply to speak about healing and reconciliation between Palestinians and Israelis, the dangers of extremism for both societies, the catastrophic damage Hamas has inflicted on the Palestinian national project, and the right of Palestinians to freedom, safety, and prosperity alongside a secure Israel.
@APTNNews If you want to prosecute people for spreading misinformation that led to real harm, here’s a good place to start your investigation

An example of Orwellian language games used by activist teachers.
Original concern: providing sexually explicit material to minors at school.
Activist reframing: "LGBTQ+ inclusion"
Insist on precise language—vague terms like "inclusion" are easily co-opted by other agendas.
I served 24 years in the United States Army. Including three combat tours. I never dreamed I would see the day that the President of the United States would salivate over a damn dictator.
Thank you Mike. So many of us are grateful for your many years of service, integrity, and endurance.
If I’m considered worthy enough by voters to serve them, I will do my best to live up to your example.
