This bill has overwhelming support from the New York Senate and Assembly as well as the people of New York. The people of New York have spoken and spoken loudly. Too many pharmacies have been forced to close. Governor Kathy Hochul please sign this bill into law sooner than later.
@SteveMooreRx@NYS_AM Mr. Moore. I echo your sentiment. It’s about time. Let this bill go for a vote! It is good for patients, small businesses and independent pharmacies.
Want to remind everyone we didn’t pass this bill last year (or the year before) and costs still went up. It’s almost like pharmacy costs aren’t what’s driving overall spending up…

When Standard Oil controlled the flow of energy, it didn’t just compete—it decided who could access the market.
When AT&T dominated telecommunications, it didn’t just provide service—it controlled who could connect.
And today, pharmacy benefit managers—companies like CVS Caremark, Express Scripts, and OptumRx—have taken on a similar role in healthcare.
They don’t manufacture medications.
They don’t prescribe them.
But they decide which drugs patients can access… where they can get them… and at what cost.
This isn’t just about competition.
It’s about control.
History shows us what happens when too much power is concentrated in too few hands—we act.
And for the sake of patients and the pharmacies that serve them, it’s time to take a hard look again.
