Almost all the reinforced concrete foundations of wind turbines ever built — weighing up to a thousand tonnes each — could be left to rot in the ground.
The number of turbines reaching the end of their working lives will soon surpass tens of thousands. As they degrade, they risk shedding their oily gearbox fluids, hydraulic liquids, and synthetic lubricants into the soil.
No one wants to deal with these massive concrete and steel monoliths later. Concrete may be mostly inert, but over the decades, these blocks can disrupt deep-soil hydrology and remain as permanent industrial junk below the surface of rural landscapes.
The concrete base of a typical early 2-3 MW wind turbine weighs 400 to 800 tonnes. But the foundations of later, even bigger turbines (5 MW+) can exceed 1,000 tonnes.
In many jurisdictions, decommissioning regulations only require the operator to clear the foundation to a depth of 1 meter below the surface. While contracts state operators are responsible, the financial reality is complex.
Bank guarantees or bonds set aside for removal (around $100,000 per turbine) are woefully inadequate. Real-world estimates for total removal and site restoration can exceed $200,000 to $400,000 per unit.
If the cost of total removal vastly exceeds the bond, there is a strong incentive for shell companies to declare bankruptcy — leaving landowners to foot the bill.
We are already seeing this play out at Victoria's Codrington wind farm. Operators announced plans to remove only the top 1.5-meter pedestal, leaving the bulk of the project's 20,000 tonnes of subterranean foundations permanently buried.
This triggered an intense backlash from local communities and MPs who argue it violates the original promise to restore the land.
It leaves a disturbing legacy.
‘Britain is sleepwalking into a disaster’
An on-the-ground photographer in France confirms what many expected - nobody is stopping the boats.
Illegals with iPhones, life jackets supplied and
well scripted sob stories.
The truth - the UK offers so much more money and benefits.
Wave upon wave of military age men flooding in, with reports that the few women and children are treated like garbage.
This is not about humanitarianism.
It’s about the takeover of a nation.
Denis Sutherland was a United Nations Special Representative on Migration from 2006-2017. He had UN diplomatic immunity from prosecution. Look what he said about migration into England in 2006 !
“We must use migration to turn the English people into a minority in England …”
In an unprecedented move, Labour have scrapped the Conservative vote to force Andy Burnham to come to Parliament to answer questions when he becomes PM on Monday.
Labour are running scared because they know the honeymoon will be over the minute he has to tell us his plans.
This is what we’ve lost.
Been in a small coastal village near Salcombe in Devon for the last week.
It hits you straight away. Complete lack of diversity and the place is spotlessly clean. Streets you could eat off. No rubbish, no graffiti, no mess.
The cafés and shops are run by polite English kids. Smiling, working hard, speaking properly. The sort of thing that used to be normal everywhere.
No vape shops. No Turkish barbers. Just quiet English life by the sea.
You can see exactly what has been taken from us. This is how it all used to be. And now it only survives in these few forgotten corners.
Depressing when you realise how much we gave away.
Judging from what I’ve seen over the last few days, it’s clear that Britain does not have a “far-right” problem.
It has a far-left problem. Without a doubt.
Mark Zuckerberg, an outspoken critic of "man-made climate change", shows off his new $300,000,000, 287-foot mega yacht, powered by four gigantic diesel engines.
Yet another stark reminder that Net Zero is only for the peasants
Shortly before her tragic death, Ann Widdecombe launched a scathing attack on woke diversity quotas, arguing that prioritising identity over merit has significantly degraded the competence of politicians.
"They give priority to women, to people of ethnic origin, to gays, to whatever it might be. They're interested in quotas."
"That, to my mind, is a complete nonsense, and it's what guarantees low quality."
ANDY BURNHAM
From 24,927 votes in Makerfield to be crowned Prime Minister for 70 million people.
No questions have been answered by him.
No debates have been held.
He had been engineered entirely within the Labour Party.
GENERAL ELECTION NOW 🇬🇧
I was in Jersey last week. Their east coast is only 14 miles from France. 7 fewer than Calais to Dover.
And yet...I wondered...why don't they get dinghies full of young men coming across?
Because they intercept them, pick em up, lock em up, and return them to France...a safe country.
With the full backing of UK Border Force.
So why don't we do that?
Former PM Liz Truss discloses that those who speak against the approved narrative in Parliament are ostracised and cancelled and that a shadowy global elite led by the central bankers control all our senior politicians!

When the UK says it’s lowering its emissions remember this …
The UK exports 50 MILLION used tyres a YEAR about 43 MILLION of them to India!
70% are then BURNED to extract crude oil, black carbon and scrap steel.
so we can pretend we’re hitting net zero targets 🤡
“Net Zero: Let’s make UK energy the most expensive in Europe, shut our factories, destroy jobs and local economies, plaster solar panels over thousands of acres of farmland, spend £billions turning off wind turbines because we can’t use their energy supply, spend £30 billion on carbon capture machines, ban new oil and gas licenses in the North Sea but spend £40billion buying North Sea oil and gas from Norway, blame cow burps, reduce red meat consumption and freeze pensioners so global CO2 drops by 0.0003%. But we will also build hundreds of AI data centres that guzzle natural resources and energy. China’s still building coal plants like it’s 1950 but at least we get to feel superior while the rest of the world laughs over our sheer stupidity. Genius.”
This is how democracy dies in small-town Britain. In Thetford, a community of just 650 souls is being steamrollered with plans to dump 1,200 illegal migrants into RAF Barnham – and when locals turn up to the “public” meeting to demand answers, the council caps attendance at 120 despite room for 300. Inside, nobody has answers. Outside, frustration boils over as British people are locked out of decisions that will destroy their way of life.
Labour’s globalist betrayal and compliant councils treat our towns like dumping grounds for failed asylum claims and economic migrants who contribute nothing but strain on housing, schools, GPs and crime rates. Two-tier Britain again: the state rigs the system to silence dissent while accelerating the invasion. Cultural incompatibility isn’t abstract – it’s these overwhelmed communities watching their resources vanish and their safety erode.
We’ve had enough of this replacement racket. Stop the boats, end the hotel and dispersal scams, deport the criminals and those who don’t belong, and put British people first. These small towns didn’t vote for this transformation – they were never asked. Remigrate, reclaim our communities, and make Britain for the British again. The anger is justified. The fight is just beginning. 🇬🇧
Well done to cricketing legend Sir Ian Botham who has launched a campaign against huge wind turbines wrecking some of the most beautiful landscapes in England.
🚨 YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO READ THIS TO BELIEVE IT.
If you own a home, have a pension, or plan to leave an inheritance, Andy Burnham's leaked economic plans should terrify you. 🤡
He is planning to scrap the capital gains tax "uplift on death," meaning grieving families will be hit with double tax bills on inherited family homes.
Begbies Chartered Accountants confirmed this double levy will hit grieving families with an effective 62% tax rate!
But it gets even worse.
Burnham wants to replace council tax with a new annual property tax of 0.48% of your home's value.
If you live in an average £553,000 house, you will be forced to pay £2,654 every single year just for the privilege of living in your own home!
They want to tax you while you live, tax you when you die, and tax your children for mourning you.
