Susan Sabiston took this big bull moose in the Yukon on Saturday with a single shot (nearly impossible) at 350 yards off shooting sticks in an inflatable boat!

This was a several year quest to take a big bull moose and Susan overcame bad conditions, unseasonably warm weather, and a lot of bad luck... as well as be incredibly determined to get this moose. Congratulations Susan on a goal achieved!

It took two weeks in the field but SOA client Susan Sabiston shook "the monkey off her back" and broke the moose hunting curse that had plagued her for a few years.

On September 20 she killed this nice Yukon bull despite the late start to the rut and warmer than normal temperatures!

Caribou Saturday (The King)

Photo #7... It would be fitting if this was my last caribou ever in this lifetime. At 475 B&C it is one of the largest ever killed and to those who have seen it in our office, The King is truly an appropriate name. His shovels and bez are loaded with points that he wore like a crown.

The bull left me speechless and I made everyone sit down for a while so I could just admire him before we broke him down and started an epic, late night pack out to the salt water.

This is it for today... no more caribou photos... but please make sure you all go into the field and enjoy this awesome Saturday. Happy Hunting!

This was the third caribou I had taken with the @CVAMuzzleloader muzzleloader on my way to taking all five species with the same gun.

Caribou Saturday (World Record Edition)

Photo #6... At the time I shot this bull it was the largest WOODLAND CARIBOU from Newfoundland ever killed with a muzzleloader. I have not kept up with that record book as it seems to have become less prominent as P&Y or B&C but I hope the Longhunter Society remains relevant to those who love to hunt with a smoke pole. But I hope that someone has taken and recorded a larger bull than this one with the LongHunter Society.

This was the fifth and final of the caribou sub-species of North America that I had taken with the same @CVAMuzzleloader muzzleloader... one gun, five awesome animals.
