My new book A BILLION YEARS OF SEX DIFFERENCES is out today!
It's about the evolution of human sex differences and why they matter.

Here's a sample of reactions to the book... 👇
Amazing. We don't directly perceive color. Instead, the perceptual system “infers” it from other visual cues.

Something strange is happening with self-reported height among men: There aren’t enough 5’11” men, and there are too many 6’0” men. Hmmm…

How much of the primate cognitive toolkit can natural selection squeeze into a tiny bird brain?
How did animals separated from us by hundreds of millions of years of evolution end up with so many similar mental abilities?
Can the same abilities be implemented in different ways in different brains?

Smarter people tend to be more supportive of freedom of speech.
A big part of this is intellectual humility: Higher IQ is associated with greater intellectual humility, which in turn is associated with greater support for freedom of speech.

really? what a narrow view! Anderson did in fact write sympathetically & convincingly about girls & women; even Hemingway has a story from an adolescent girl's perspective, "Up in Michigan," that is a knockout; not to mention D.H. Lawrence, Scott Fitzgerald, Thomas Hardy & (not least) Shakespeare.
if men can't write about women, women presumably can't write about men.
educated people can't write about lesser-educated people, Black writers can't write about brown people, people from Maine can't write about people from Vermont, no one can write about anyone except the sickly face in the mirror.
