The "Poor Man’s Tax":
M-Pesa’s fee structure operates as a regressive tariff on low-income earners.
A user withdrawing KSh 200 pays up to KSh 29 in fees—a 14.5% instant deduction on micro-liquidity.
Compounded across monthly sending, paybill, and withdrawal fees, the system extracts significant transactional friction from the bottom of the pyramid.

Government says in 2022, our maize harvest was 34 million bags … And we didn’t have shortage!
Government says our maize production last year was 70m! 70m bags… more than double 2022 production. Our population has not doubled!
So, why are we experiencing great shortage? Did we transport our maize to Zambia then re-importing it?
I don’t understand some things. Maybe Government Experts can explain to me.
I said what I said.
In a Kenya with a properly functioning government, any university COULD have stadia of this size if they so wished. Instead we’re taxed for the stadium, they steal what they taxed you then it’s also a gift of ‘development’ from them to you? And you cheer? K.
The problem with these people is not just that they are parasites, sucking the life out of Kenyans.
It is that, they chew with their mouths open.
And, adding salt to injury, they insist that we must watch and bear witness.
It is a diabolical level of debauchery.

President William Ruto, after four years in power, has made 455 promises, but only 12 of them have been fulfilled.
This means only 2.6% of his promises have been fulfilled
Mr President you found public debt at Sh8.7 trillion. Today it is Sh13 trillion. That is Sh4.3 trillion added in four years. The Controller of Budget is telling Treasury to stop borrowing because we have smashed the 55 percent debt ceiling. You do not reduce a mountain by standing on it and announcing it is a hill. #DeniBandia #ReKe
Remember late 2023 when Ruto made Kenya visa-free because "Kenya is the cradle of mankind" and "it's unfair to ask anyone coming home for a visa"? Fast forward to today, and he’s echoing xenophobic hatred against fellow Africans.🤔
The RSF is welcome in Kenya, but not the Burundian street vendor. A militia that has killed and discriminated on the basis of ones ethnicity and race has the diplomatic red carpet rolled out for its leaders. Yet the scapegoat for a struggling economy is the Burundian street vendor.
