The audience for the "sense of wonder" panel wanted recommendations for new book. I suggested @danielsu, Wil McCarthy, @robkroese, @MorlockP, @SteveWire5, and cough, myself. I know they were writing them down because I had to repeat some.
Here’s a question you should think about; how are you moving this world forward?Seems all you are doing is sitting on your high saddle and telling others what they should do. If someone else is doing something to move towards a future and you condemn them but don’t do anything yourself; that’s not moving anything forward. 🙄 Be the change or get out of the way…🤷🏼
One day I’ll write something about how terrible this book was for a generation of travel-obsessed millennial and Gen-X women. A beautiful (and charming) celebration of blowing up your life for a story.
EXCLUSIVE: @GrossmanHannah and I have obtained logs from the NSA’s secret transgender sex chatroom, in which NSA, CIA, and DIA employees discuss genital castration, artificial vaginas, piss fetishes, sex polycules, and gangbangs—all on government time.
This is insane. 🧵
This is the Sunday Book promo, but with a twist. I also started publishing the people who stepped out of the shadows to promote their books and aren't afraid to be seen on my blog. I'll be doing one of these a night until I run out of books.
I'll link it at instapundit tonight.
You know where to find the link, right?
Two weeks ago today, I took my first steps outside prison walls in over a decade.
I was able to liberate Leaf Erikson as well, the little pepper plant that had been clinging to life on the sill of my cell window for the past year or so.
STEP OUT OF THE SHADOWS
I'm going to ask @Devon_Eriksen_ for help with this for obvious reasons, but I ask all of you too to retweet:
I'm painfully aware indies -- particularly our side of indie -- need promo and visibility.
IF YOU ARE AN INDY WRITER WHO IS NOT AFRAID TO ASSOCIATE WITH THE LIKES OF ME, @Devon_Eriksen_@davefreersf the people at Raconteur Press (@dagney_kavanagh) etc. etc.
Send me your latest book link to bookpimping at outlook dot com
I'll start running extraordinary book promos as fast as I can and linking at @instapundit.
AGAIN, THE ONLY REQUIREMENT -- I THINK IT'S ENOUGH -- IS THAT YOU'RE NOT AFRAID TO STAND UP AND SAY "I'M ON THE SIDE OF LIBERTY." (Heck, we'll take trad pub even, though if you're not Baen you might be putting yourself at risk.)
It's time, chilluns. Come out, come out, wherever you are.
@thenovelninja is looking at creating an award, and all power to him, but meanwhile let's get the Benjamin awards.
Be brave. Step out of the shadows!
@amuse This is the 1964 "daisy" ad!
I've heard of this but never seen it. iirc, it aired one time in Chicago, but the corporate media aired it nationwide continuously, on the pretext that it crossed a line.
LBJ got millions of $ of free advertising.
There's a future in sight when "law" isn't human readable. That's a serious failure mode, but I wonder where the first cracks will appear.
Impending doomsday might inspire a lovely overcorrection, and I'd look for cool asymmetries in the meantime.
Yes. Word processing is bad.
Before it, document length was bounded by the human capacity to copy long-form text & about to plateau.
After word processing, the tax & legal codes grew without check. And became incomprehensible to anyone but career experts.
Big sad that we will never see the moon terraformed and fully colonized by humanity that moonians will get to have their own cultures, national identity and dumb politics.
Like how depressing is it that you will never get cancelled for blurting out moonian slurs over at twitter
