The news of the apartment fire in Hong Kong has been heavy to take in. Even from thousands of miles away, loss like this cuts deep because a human tragedy is universal. My sympathy goes out to everyone affected. After a career spent inside Toronto condo buildings, it hits close, almost like hearing a past client was caught in it.

It hit me recently how many condo developers and boards missed a big opportunity.
In all my years, I’ve never seen a single building with a proper space for parents and toddlers. Not one.

Gyms, pools, party rooms… all standard.
But anything designed for young families? Practically nonexistent.

Maybe I’m wrong and missed a memo somewhere, but it feels like we forgot that real people (and little people) actually live in these buildings. Asking for a friend 😊
