@espiegler Michelle and I have KU J-school friends who have worked there. We’re all enraged. An update:
The raids contributed to the death of the paper’s co-owner, 98-year old Joan Meyer, whom it said collapsed and died on Saturday afternoon following the police search of her home
@worleygirl I prefer the old fasioned way where I watch 2 or 3 YouTube breakdown videos afterward, just to make sure I got every excruciating detail. 😂

@MelanieMoore Agreed about the last 1/3rd. I loved the Gnomon as a sort of cooler concept of a space elevator. And I get the idea that all of our dog species evolved over 5000 years and if applied to humans, we’d get some really interesting variation. It still felt a bit too forced.
@worleygirl It looks like Kansas City, but why did they add a highway where 22nd St. is? It’s like they wanted to show I-70 so they moved it to where it could be seen, I guess. It’s really disorienting.
@espiegler I’ve driven through Goddard, Kansas once and I think it’s sort of amazing that I can’t recall a single thing about it. But now I’ll always think of it as the place where the little blond boy seized power in a coup.
@O_Xordas @afeinstein20 It *could* also be some really amazingly pronounced sunspots, or an unusual dust gassing event like on Betelgeuse, but from what I understand, the high contrast points to an exoplanet.
@Cmdr_Halo_Jones@astro_jaz I use Sky Guide. It’s also handy for resolving the eternal question of “what star am I staring at?” 😃 https://t.co/2D7NEupXw3
