This doctor may end up as the worst NARD president. Go and learn from predecessor... Mo time limit should be attached to COGS. The started with 2 years and now testing 5 years. The cost of COGS should also be reduced.
UPDATE ON THE FIVE-YEAR REQUIREMENT FOR CERTIFICATE OF GOOD STANDING
Dear Colleagues,
On the issue of the reported five-year requirement for the issuance of a Certificate of Good Standing, I have engaged the relevant authorities as promised and obtained some clarification as follows:
Prescribed Requirement: The requirement is two years after full registration, with the period of NYSC included in the two years. Therefore, the reported five-year requirement is not what has been prescribed.
Colleagues Affected: Any colleague who has encountered a five-year requirement on their portal is requested to confirm this and reach out immediately so that the matter can be properly addressed.
Further Engagement: We understand that the decision was taken by the Council. We intend to engage the Council further during our courtesy visit to obtain additional clarification and address any concerns from colleagues who are uncomfortable with the current position.
We remain committed to constructive engagement with the relevant authorities to ensure clarity, fairness, and the protection of the interests of all our members.
Thank you.

@Oluwamidunsin My dear you are not returning home. Why did you leave in the first place.
Better leave Nigeria alone and focus on your hustle.
Are Nigerians complaining?
When they are ready, they know what to do.
It's quite pathetic the gen Z medical students we have these days. Even as at final year I couldn't boldly come out to tell people what i was studying. Pre clinical student already gat "doctor" title attached. Better go and read if not you go cry on this same app.
I'm still a PC student so I know doctors won't take me seriously.
But for residency I advice you to pick a specialty, with plenty portable yet marketable surgical procedures.
When I say portable I mean procedures that don't require a patient to be bedridden.
The procedures in your speciality should also be very advertisable
Imagine doing vasectomies as a urologist, at 150k per procedure.
It's portable and you don't need a clinic to get patients if you're good at marketing your skills online.
All you need is your office and perhaps one employee.
This surgery can be done in 30 minutes and 10 patients a month is an easy 1.5 million naira.
Avoid clinic-dependent specialties with no procedures that you can market with your own agency e.g anaesthesiology

@ajimotokanoluw3 Instead of you guys to appreciate this new development. Abroad u have to sign a special form to be able to work above 48hours a week and comes with overtime pay.
This beef is completely unnecessary because putting a percentage to history belittles the importance.
For instance, you are saying you want someone to prove that history covers 70-80%.
In this context, we can say it covers 100%
Let me explain.
Without a proper history and examination, laboratory has no purpose.
Take for example, a patient comes to me with chest pain and difficulty in breathing and I go on to ask for thyroid function test, cortisol levels, Hvs MCS and 24hrs urine protein.
Or a patient comes with painful urination and I request for troponin and CA-125.
I'm not going to get anything with those lab results.
Laboratory results only makes sense when you match them with the right history.
I'm creating these scenarios to point out why you can't compare the importance of labs with history
Without labs, a doctor can have differential diagnosis.
Without history, the doctor has nothing.
Have a great day.
