The construction of the barrier by Zhul-Qarnayn is mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah. It was a showcase of a profound blend of structural engineering and divine protection. In Surat al-Kahf (18:96), the process is described where Dhul-Qarnayn commanded:
آتُونِي زُبَرَ الْحَدِيدِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا سَاوَىٰ بَيْنَ الصَّدَفَيْنِ قَالَ انفُخُوا ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَعَلَهُ نَارًا قَالَ آتُونِي أُفْرِغْ عَلَيْهِ قِطْرًا
"Bring me blocks of iron" until, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountains, he said, "Blow (with bellows)" until when he had made it (red as) fire, he said, "Bring me, that I may pour over it molten copper."
We can see from here that the barrier was designed to be invincible. With the way he mixed iron with molten copper, he created an alloy that Ibn Kathir noted was so smooth it could not be climbed and so hard it could not be bored through.
The result was a structure that even the most aggressive forces could not overcome, as stated in the following verse:
فَمَا اسْطَاعُوا أَن يَظْهَرُوهُ وَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا لَهُ نَقْبًا
"So they were not able to pass over it, nor were they able to effect in it any penetration."
When we now look at the Sunnah, Abu Hurayrah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) spoke about the persistent efforts of these tribes to breach the wall:
إن يأجوج ومأجوج يحفرون كل يوم حتى إذا كادوا يرون شعاع الشمس قال الذي عليهم ارجعوا فستحفرونه غدا فيعيده الله أشد ما كان
"Verily, Yajuj and Majuj dig through it every day until they are almost able to see the rays of the sun. The one in charge of them says, 'Go back, and you will dig through it tomorrow,' but Allah restores it even more firmly than it was before."
This cycle would continue until their leader finally says, "Insha'Allah" (If Allah wills), which will now allow them to finally break through as a major sign of the end of time.
This barrier remains a physical and spiritual divide, held together by the strength of iron, the seal of copper, and the decree of the Creator.
Allah knows best.
My wife gave birth about 3–4 months ago during Ramadan. We resumed marital relations, and we recently discovered that she is pregnant again and is currently about one month pregnant. We were not planning for another baby so soon and do not feel ready emotionally or financially to welcome another child at this time.
From an Islamic perspective, is it permissible to abort the pregnancy simply because we are not ready for another child right now?

Made me remember one chief like that.
He was a Senior Medical Officer where I did my house job.
I had just met my bobo then. We were just friends somehow, especially as we had both just come out of a long term relationship, his own was even 6 years but I already knew where my heart was and I stayed true to it.
So I told Chief, "I'm sorry, I can't," but he decided to come visit me where I was doing locum anyway.
Turns out my bobo had an executive dinner at the exact same location Chief had invited me to, and I don't think he would have appreciated his prospective girlfriend holding the arms of another man. Although, er fould argue that we were just friends, but then, I'd rather not be in that situation.
Anyway, Chief and my Bobo brought me dinner from the same place.
By the time bobo arrived, he met Chief at my gate.
Bobo: Wait, why is he here?
Me: He's also asking me out.
Bobo: Oh really? Just be careful.
Me: Or what? We're just friends, right? Or did we get committed without my knowledge?
Anyways, Bobo had a long thought that night and said, "ok, let's get more serious with each other", because that was the second or third "he's asking me out. " he had encountered on my phone.
That's not even the real gist.
This same chief got married exactly 8 weeks later.
EIGHT WEEKS. 🤧😳
I started seeing pre wedding shoots a week prior to that, meanwhile I had to tell him to stop texting me two weeks earlier.
Chief was not really pursuing a relationship with me.
Chief was having his last outing before the wedding. 😭😂 because the timeline is confusing 😕 😄 🤣
