Anthropic's models are Claude canon of course, but I think our understanding of pre-training is still primitive. Distillation is doing it sort of intentionally, but we're almost certainly vacuuming up lots of weird stuff into our base models.

Everybody thinks that a model "is Claude" but I don't think that's true. The models, the weights are all just a substrate.

@_LordHumungus_ @kai_fell I like Rust but I will still go to bat for Go. If you need to write a networked service and want it easy to deploy you reach for Go. Go's fat standard library started as a convenience, but it is now a security advantage. I wish Rust had Go's stdlib.
