In preparation for Holy Week students in Miss Sousa and Mrs. Soliveri’s class created 3D versions of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper with the help of their “reading buddies” from Mrs. Martelli’s class. They also learned about Palm Sunday in class from Mr. Haley.

Congratulations to our St. Gabriel School Run-Off Finalists who shared their speeches with peers, staff and family this week. The topics were interesting, informative, entertaining and well prepared! We are very proud of all of our Gr 4 to 8 students who worked on a speech.
Grade 3 Trip to Lincoln Historical Museum. Mrs. Dubois’ class visited a one room school house set in the 1800s. A great learning experience and a whole lot of fun!
As we prepare for Palm Sunday, the final Sunday of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week students in Mrs. Moniz and Mrs. DiFrancesco’s class made their own palm branches and sang along to "Hosanna Rock" while waving their palm branches proudly!
Students are encouraged to wear brightly coloured, mismatched socks to promote awareness regarding Down syndrome. It is still a school uniform day and we encourage all to participate - showing that “Each Belongs” and are all unique and special human beings made in God’s image.

Student transportation is cancelled, and all HWCDSB schools, administration buildings, adult education centres and childcare centres are CLOSED today, Thursday, February 23, 2023, due to inclement weather.
The HWCDSB Virtual School will operate as per usual.
In-person students will have the opportunity to participate in asynchronous learning. Work will be posted on the myClass LMS by 10 a.m. Staff from administration buildings will transition to work from home.
Today, on Ash Wednesday, we opened the liturgical season of Lent. In this time of penance, we are called to focus on prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
