🕯Liguqubele iZulu by Sthembile Msezane🕯
A multi-textured exhibition featuring Msezane's most recognisable medium - hair fibre.
My favourite section was the room walled with lit candles with soft beach sand and water on the floor.
Siyabonga @sthemse for your light 🙏🏾

Liguqubele Izulu exhibition by @sthemse exemplifies the adage that an artist's work must reflect their surroundings.

Hey loves, if you are or know any emerging writers who would love to be featured on a digital magazine that is based in CPT, please let me know. The person doesnt need to be from CPT. We are looking for poets, short essays and short stories that have not been previously published
The piece explores afro-diasporic communities' relationship to water through the lenses of spirituality, Indigenous knowledge systems, ecology and our relationships to time.
The audience is chaperoned across the Atlantic by Msezane, a matriarchal figure who departs from the African continent crossing the middle passage and arriving in Liverpool, to reconcile with this trauma.
