I am unsure of the legal grounds for holding tickets when a customer has paid in full for said product (i.e. ticket in this instance). Your resale option is not available either as the event is not sold out.
So many loyal customers purchase event tickets months in advance and on occasion, there are genuine circumstances when the time of the event comes that people cannot attend. Recourse to recoup their money from the ticket (not to make a profit) is reduced with this system.
@Jburke365Burke @JamesRedNetwork (3) not all of us have the luxury of moving back to the family home to save for a mortgage. As a care leaver, don’t have that family safety net and as a result will continue to suffer disproportionately in the rental sector and any opportunity to buy is leeched by landlords.
@Jburke365Burke @JamesRedNetwork (2) It’s not that I can’t pay for a mortgage but rather can’t save the deposit for one because rising rents mean stuck in poverty trap. Renting since 18 y/o and have paid upwards of €100,000 to rent in the last 11 years.
@Jburke365Burke @JamesRedNetwork That’s a bit of an idiotic question - why can’t those people get a loan in the first place? My rent is €1,000 p/m which is over a third of my wages. My friends mortgage is €1,050.
Catriona, teacher, paying €1k pm rent, landlord tries to hike rent by €200, she goes to RTB, he serves her notice after 5yrs paying him rent
Now she's struggling to find a place where she works. She might have to leave her job
But yeah, demonisation of landlords...

@marketgrump Not in the numbers they are suggesting. Pretty evident where most of the landlords are going when looking at the growth in short-term lettings versus reduction in long-term lettings.
Gov narrative: landlords are leaving the rental market.
Reality: landlords are shifting provision to short-term/holiday market
Why the shift:
- least regulation/most profit
- undermine Part 4 tenancy rights
- don’t have to maintain properties
Ironic to see big name homeless charities / NGO’s paying their employees such low wages, putting them at risk of homelessness and in need of HAP to pay rent.
We were delighted to be invited to @SwanYouth Service’s ‘Education Live Night’ last night📚
Our very own Access Alumni @StickalashlingF spoke with young people from @NEIC_Dublin about her journey through education, overcoming obstacles and the supports she received @WeAreTUDublin
@JDhelpteam rang customer service 3 times now, each time getting cut off mid-call. Looking for information on castle place JD in Belfast event meet the Celtic players. Can you check DMs please, can’t keep ringing international numbers on work phone.
Seen a few mitigating “oh it’s just €1,000” comments, “what’s the big deal” - M.Stone is chair of the #NEIC on @Paschald’s nomination. Stone awarded various development contracts in the area on foot of this. But sure, jobs-for-the-boyzz n’all that!

@Transparency_ie is this your very own @MichaelSmithIrl threatening to violently evict a tenant on a freezing cold night? Interesting power play from someone who fights "to ensure power is used in the interest of everyone."
🚨🚨 EVICTION THREAT, MOBILISE NOW 🚨
1/11
In the dead of night on Monday last, two landlords, alongside another 2 intimidating masked men, arrived at the door of CATU member Luke’s home to evict him into homelessness... Info, incl videos below 👇
