Jabu called a press conference in March 2006 and revealed that he was HIV positive and said that he learned of his status in October 2005. He told his fans that he wanted to reveal his status so that they would know that HIV/ AIDS doesn't discriminate and everyone should protect themselves. Jabulani Sithole passed away on 15 June 2006.
