@NopeNotByMe @andrewwimer That case is from 2018. There have been a half dozen lpr cases in federal court not interpreting the case the way you are. They have unanimously said that LPR reads do not constitute “the whole of there movement” again maybe the next case at the Supreme Court will change that.

@boysyt37335 @hhhtteeee @andrewwimer But the case you listed was a circuit court ruling that a higher court in Commonwealth v. Church said the judge in Bell did not correctly inturpert the law so it’s not relevant. Again this all could change in six months when another court weighs in.

@boysyt37335 @hhhtteeee @andrewwimer I’m honestly confused the company publicly says the cameras dont do live video, their website says they don’t do live video, all their contracts are foiable & they aren’t getting paid to have LPR’s do live video. My gut says you are refeting to colocated Lpr+ a 2nd video camera.

@boysyt37335 @hhhtteeee @andrewwimer Again you are incorrect there are 5 different cameras they sell 2 are LPr only, 1 is a fixed live video camera and 2 are PTZ cameras. They have no camera that does both lpr and live video.

@NopeNotByMe @andrewwimer Cell phone data does show exact placement at every moment in public and private. Lpr are at fixed place fully in the public row. You can not tell where someone went or some has been from an LPr alone.

@dillysandwitch @peterjhasson In both these situations these people’s cars were there. The police did a poor job investigating the crimes. Flock does not tell a detective who did the crime. It is just one of what should be several tools they are using.

The ruling will likely hinge on cell phones are a constant ping that track in public & private while LPR are fixed locations entirely in public space. To this point no court has help lpr to violate 4th ammendment

Cell phones & fixed cameras are different federal courts rules on this for lpr last year. Scholl v. Illinois State Police.

Flock didn’t create the abortion laws in America. Are you advocating for tech companies to only obey law enforcement commands they like?

Again instead of police watching hours of video and intrusively watching many people. They can describe the subject of interest and the camera only takes them to it

@NopeNotByMe @andrewwimer I use Flock. It’s been wild to see it portrayed as much more extensive tool then it really is, but the fact is most crimes involve a vehicle. How did the suspect get there how did the leave. Without lpr crime would be up and clearance rates would go down. Thats a fact.

@bryanhorsey @peterjhasson You post enough about lpr that you know the data is not stored I definitely and only the owner of the data decides who can see it. If you don’t know that with the volume of tweets you have in this topic that’s a real problem and you’re just a vector for misinformation.

@sleethestak @peterjhasson Do you think the police can type in your name then it says where you have been? Because that isn’t how it works. If the police types in a plate number they can see what cameras it has passed in the last 30 days. It still doesn’t tell police who was driving or was in the car.

The camera takes a still picture of the back of a vehicle and reads the plate, color, make, type of vehicle and if it has a bike rack, bumper sticker or roof rack. If the car is on a Hot list it will auto alert police. That’s everything
