Rajwant Singh Brar, 27, "of Winnipeg, Manitoba" was arrested and charged with:

Careless Driving
Fail to stop for school bus-stop arm

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on August 18th.

An investigation by @OPP_News police determined that the school bus and commercial vehicle were both travelling eastbound on the highway. The school bus was stopped with its lights activated and stop arm fully extended when the commercial vehicle rear-ended the bus.

NOTE: The photos come from a local social media post and show damage to the left rear of the school bus and right front of the truck.

To this former @TorontoPolice traffic officer, the damage suggests a glancing impact rather than full on. The damage to the bus is far lighter than it could have been.

Speculation at this point, but looks like the driver at the last moment tried to go around the school bus - or perhaps locked up and skidded left whether intended or a result of the lockup etc.

This in context that the transport truck should have stopped 100 feet behind the bus. Outrageous.

Thank God this wasn't another massacre - because it sure could have been.

All I can think of is that Humboldt continues to replay in different accidents and incidents across Canada - again and again and again with the same group driving.

How many more dead, injured, crippled as a direct result of our governments at all levels?
