@Reggie_Bflo You're not more correct saying he cant succeed in the NFL because we havent seen it. Its the same argument in both directions except that the people giving him a chance recognize he wins big games, has high IQ/EQ, and prototype measurables. Try harder
@JBaileyNFL@937theFan@DonChed54 Define 'way too carried away', saying that he should be QB1 next year? He's the best option in terms of opportunity cost, if he shows progress and starter capability they got upside on the cheap, if he underperforms we're better positioned for next draft to get a higher tier guy
@MarkKaboly Obviously it might work out but it says that the ownership truly does not think this team would benefit from a rebuild. Whether thats the correct take (it isnt) its clearly not what the fanbase feels, hence the reaction
In the past 10 years:
* 34 first-round QBs drafted
* 5 (incl Maye and Darnold) have started in super bowls
* ~14% hit rate
Tell me again why Will Howard cant succeed because of where he was drafted
@jack_sperry@ChatSports Its objectively bad process Sperry. Those zooms should be at most introductions, a leader needs to be interviewed in person. The only justification for rushing to hire McCarthy would've been if he had other offers, which he didnt. Bad process for any hire in any org ever.
@Almostretire Respect to ben for what he did but after he said he was rooting for Kenny to fail I will honestly never trust a word out of his mouth about this team
@BreidenFehoko Shula was the only candidate that fit whats been a success no kidding we havent been looking at people for a long time nobody knew tomlin was retiring. We were calling for flores years ago too dawg
@scottiloss Drake Maye faced some of the worst defenses in football this year and also had 100 fewer attempts than the top 3 qbs, and dart is going to be concussed before he ever has a chance to do anything. Also clearly has a top5 RB and top5 wr. Try again
@Alex_Kozora Of literally every option available for them to end up as the 2027 starter (26 will be Rodgers) hes the best choice. Only viable draft choice is simpson and even 21 would be a massive reach, Malik Willis has failed in better situations and has worse measurables, no FA options
@Steelersdepot * Josh Allen measurables
* two championships in college
* 20% improvement in completion percentage his last year so he can grow
* Prototype of modern NFL QB success with enough mobility to extend and escape
