What is our value proposition? That was the first question that my brother and I had to answer when we started Ankara Circle. It was easy to answer that. We’re Nigerian. And we knew two things to be true…

1. Nigeria (and Africa) as a whole have incredible stories
2. No one is finding those incredible stories and telling them in a way that is easily accessible and high quality
We grew up reading manga and novels online. Nothing I saw resonated with my culture

Getting test art back from prospective artists has to be one my favorite things. I’m literally up at 6 am scoring my email for thing people sent overnight

Starting a company has been one of the scariest things I’ve ever done and talking about it even more so. But we’ve been putting in a lot of work and it doesn’t make sense not to share with at this point

Cut to 2021. I’m one a walk with my brother and he asks me about how I want to publish. We talk through different options. Going traditional, self publishing , and using other distribution channels. And we realize that other people might be having the same problem I have
