@autisticparents Please please don't restrain your kids unless it is absolutely necessary. From the other end, it hurts, is terrifying, and can cause the conflict to escalate. Accidental restraint injury is easier than it seems. I ended up with PTSD in part from restraints.

@autisticparents She's not just trying to hurt you. She either means it (at least in the moment) or is in a lot of pain and expressing it in an exaggerated way because kids do that.

@autisticparents You could also ask her if there is something she could do besides head banging that would make her feel better. Or you could notice if any situations trigger the head banging and try to figure out how to make those situations easier to handle or avoid them.

@autisticparents Sounds like she is in a lot of emotional pain. Maybe ask her why she wants to die and work on fixing it. It probably won't be a quick fix.
