For the new school year, letโs remember that we are not teaching mini adults. We are teaching children, and children need to learn and play as children. To do otherwise is to overlook their unique developmental needs and the importance of a playful, engaging learning environment
We say we're preparing students for careers that don't exist yet. However, an education system which focuses on standardized testing as the measure of success inadequately nurtures the very qualities necessary for creativity and innovation for success in those future careers.
