The more that India is seen as Israel's friend, the more problems it will create. (And what is this: "Hindu scholars from Modi’s power base are due to visit Israel this month to meet officials and academics to learn about Zionism.")
What's happening in Odisha is absolutely scary and dangerous. The kind of mob violence we're witnessing is shocking and unacceptable.
A young boy and girl working under a fellowship scheme with an NGO (Gram Vikas) in Daringbadi were traveling to an interior area in Rayagada district. They were brutally attacked by a mob near Kalyansinghpur after locals suspected them of child-lifting based on a rumour.
The girl was beaten severely and was forced to strip naked. A disturbing video of the incident is circulating widely on social media and in Odisha media, though many outlets appear to be downplaying or suppressing it.
How can the media ignore or suppress such a heinous attack? Are we not human? Law and order seems to be collapsing, and no one feels safe. This kind of mob violence must stop immediately, and the culprits should be held accountable.
Being forced to play a cricket ODI in 40°C (or more) is both unhealthy and thoughtless.
The @BCCI , surely, can opt for stadiums in the hills during the summer; a sunstroke is no spinning matter; it could be lethal.
Unsurprisingly, no Indian commentator has the spine to highlight this fact.
@ICC
Tehran Drove a Hard Bargain. New Delhi Didn’t.
Iran has shown that through hard-nosed diplomacy and deft negotiations, a far weaker state can extract a framework agreement on almost equal terms from a superpower that initiated a war of aggression against it.
By contrast, the February U.S.-India trade framework front-loaded India’s obligations, making them specific, quantifiable and readily monitorable, while leaving U.S. commitments phased, conditional and subject to reversal. Yet it is this lopsided framework that now serves as the foundation for the final bilateral trade agreement nearing completion. https://t.co/kpeevvrEDN
The Pentagon’s decision to drop “Indo” and revert to U.S. Pacific Command, coupled with the recent U.S. National Security Strategy (NSS) barely mentioning India, has understandably raised questions about India’s standing in Washington. The relationship is increasingly defined less by shared strategic vision than by hard-nosed transactions, as Trump seeks a modus vivendi with China and rediscovers Pakistan’s utility in preventing any single power from dominating the subcontinent.
Iran was ordered to leave the U.S. and return to Mexico directly after their first match of the World Cup.
The team had expected to spend the night in California, but was told after their match that everyone must immediately get on a plane for the 140-mile trip back to Tijuana, Mexico.
Coach Amir Ghalenoei says the team was ordered to leave the U.S. but did not say why or who ordered them to leave earlier than planned.
"I think our team is perhaps the most oppressed in the World Cup."
The World Cup is exposing an uncomfortable truth about international relations: citizens of countries in the Global South face systemic discrimination in visa and immigration procedures.
@IFTWC Bro what's this with Indian origin ?? Just for chest thumping ??
Imagine if he is in india what his sporting career would be.
We need the our system to be developed so we can produce world class sports icon.
Now that cough syrups need prescriptions, I foresee this scene in a medical shop:
Customer: 1 bottle of syrup please.
Chemist: For what?
Customer: For cough.
Chemist: Do you have a prescription?
Customer: No.
Chemist. Then for cough.
