I’ve submitted my response to the Timms Review of Personal Independence Payment.

In Dewsbury & Batley, over 8,600 people rely on PIP. It is not a luxury, but a lifeline.

Disabled people already face significantly higher living costs. Any weakening of support will push more families into poverty, worsen health outcomes, and place greater pressure on already overwhelmed public services.

PIP must be strengthened, not cut, and reforms must be rooted in dignity, fairness, and the lived experience of disabled people. 🧵 1/2

So Polanski did indeed fail to pay council tax on his main residence. Clearly he wasn't bothered about failing to contribute to the cost of local services.

It's another example of 'Rayner's Rule:' that those who are most keen on forcing the rest of us to pay lots more tax don't think they should pay much tax themselves.

And when they're found out it's always 'a mistake.'

I was just reading about the cases of invasive invasive meningococcal disease in Kent. I noticed this early symptoms list and thought it may be worth sharing...

"The onset of illness is often sudden and early diagnosis and treatment with antibiotics are vital. Early symptoms, which may not always be present, include:

- a rash that does not fade when pressed with a glass
- sudden onset of high fever
- severe and worsening headache
- stiff neck
- vomiting and diarrhoea
- joint and muscle pain
- dislike of bright lights
- very cold hands and feet
- seizures
- confusion/delirium
- extreme sleepiness/difficulty waking
