It has been a week and Ms. Roque reports that the students are settling into rules and routines nicely. Cannot wait to take a picture of the new group on Friday!
Lorna Delamorandiere worked at St. Joseph’s for fifteen years as a lunch supervisor. This past week Father Peter blessed a bench installed in her name to ensure her spirit and presence is felt among the students.
Our book worms visited Chapters in Sudbury to pick out some summer reading materials. They also visited Marymount, the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum in Capreol and Boston Pizza for lunch.
We all worry and so the students produced mindful stones. They took positive words from magazines which mean something to them. Students will now keep their stone as a go to when feeling anxious, worried, upset or frustrated.
St. Joseph students went on a walk in the village this week for Catholic Education week and then made breathing wands with toilet paper rolls to learn how to pay attention to their breath. The students talked about how breathing calms the body and breathing is like a signal.
Mrs. Rioux spent Friday afternoon with our St Joseph friends to start Catholic Education week early. They read the parable of the seed, talked about seeds and weeds (found some too) and talked about being rooted in faith.
