Can anyone recommend interesting non-fiction pod casts? I've never listened to one before but I'm looking for something to listen to at a time when I can't read.
@jhasomesh@mustach_io You guys are making me want to grow my mustache again. However, "intimidating" is never a word I've heard used in reference to mine, so the bar is high.
Lots of exciting news from the Davis Architecture Group! We've had FOUR recent papers including two best paper nominees at ISPASS! Tweet ⛈️ coming. https://t.co/Zh3R1xOOWu
It's been almost 10 years since one of my most embarrassing fundraising moments as a founder.
A moment so embarrassing that I couldn’t talk about it for years.
It taught me the difference between raising a Seed round and a Series A, as well as some well needed humility.🧵👇
Here is a tip of the hat to all of the volunteers out there reviewing papers for top conferences. It's easy to get jaded when you get bad reviews, but the PCs for both Usenix Security and OSDI have been amazing. So much thought and rigor goes into decisions, y'all should be proud
@cskama At this point I love both but for very different reasons. Coding is the invention -- this is where the art happens and when you're writing you are forced to learn exactly it is that you invented. I've always loved coding but my love for writing was gradual.
@jhasomesh If it's an incremental idea in an existing area I do what you described. But if it's a new area I'm stubborn, sometimes continuing to improve the work for years before it gets in. Once the first paper gets in for a new area, you'll have momentum and the next N are easier.
@ProfBootyPhD @GolferSpace @KVanValkenburg Completely agree, he nailed a bunch of the subtleties -- I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it thoroughly
The periodic reminders that we are hiring will continue until enough people have joined the team. 😊
If you're a systems programmer or programming languages/compiler person who wants to help us build a better API observability tool, I'd love to hear from you.
