Well, @BenPoremba has done it again: Del Bono opens later this week, but we scored a table at the soft open. Innovative Italian fare, a modern energetic space, a giant copper-clad pizza oven alongside Benโs signature copper hangings and spectacular copper-foil wall decor. Wowza.
@ThayIsTired@Kastle_supreme Perhaps. But I personally think that in the show's usage, North Star, means moral compass. And both Frank and Matt have one. I honestly don't think that Karen is all that much to Matt. More of a friend & damsel in distress for him. With Frank, Karen is an anchor to stay alive.
@Kastle_supreme@ThayIsTired And his family's past.
So I really don't think that Karen is anybody's North Star in her life. She has grey views on certain aspects of morality. Views that most assuredly would trouble Matt if he knew all of them. With those views likely not bothering Frank too much tbh.
@Kastle_supreme@ThayIsTired murder.
Matt has his very clear moral beliefs. He feels guilt.
Frank also has his own moral beliefs. He understands what he is doing is seen as immoral by most decent humans. But he has been able to rationalize those actions.
Karen keeps Frank tethered to his humanity
@SASSYTIII@GianzGmez And how freakin perfect it is juxtaposed with Matt's bland job doing the same thing. I do not know how anyone can watch this episode and just wax on about how Matt is perfect for Karen. Just no.... NO!
Polishing the Gateway Arch 630 feet above the ground, Saint Louis, MO 1965...
The Gateway Arch was completed in October 1965 as the centerpiece of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, commemorating the role of St. Louis in America's westward expansion. Designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, the structure stands 630 feet (192 meters) tall and remains the tallest monument in the United States.
Constructed from stainless steel and weighing approximately 43,000 tons, the Arch was an extraordinary engineering achievement. Workers assembled it from both sides simultaneously, with the two halves meeting at the top in a process requiring extreme precision. Engineers allowed for less than half an inch of error when the final section was installed.
Construction was not without risk. Hundreds of workers labored at dizzying heights, often exposed to wind, weather, and narrow workspaces. Remarkably, despite the dangers, no workers were killed during the construction of the monument.
The Gateway Arch can sway up to 18 inches in strong winds and was designed to withstand earthquakes. Its unique inverted catenary shape is so structurally efficient that, despite its immense size, the stainless-steel outer skin is only about 1/4 inch thick near the top.

@degrtyle@omoelerinjare1 Eh, I call bs. At least in my city, you know when your street is being closed off for any *pre planned* event. Street repavement had my street closed for 3-4 days. We had known about it for weeks. We had to park our cars elsewhere to use them. Bet she was told, she just forgot.

This is the kind of things the Republican Super Majority in Missouri has decided to cut after blowing a $600M hole in the budget by getting rid of the Capital Gains tax for the top 1%. They decided to spend another $10M in an already $50M school voucher program for private school attendees. But, yeah, cut free books for needy kids. This is absolutely monstrous (1/2)
