Thank you to the #MoLeg Members who have chosen courage and action in the face of the gun violence epidemic! This special session let’s make sure @GovParsonMO hears us!
Gun violence in Missouri is an emergency that is worthy of a special session. The Missouri Legislative Black Caucus is calling upon @GovParsonMO to call a special session to address this crisis.
She is running to replace Jean Evans who resigned to be chairwoman of the Missouri GOP. Trish Stands with us and our movement and is one more vote for common sense in the #MoLeg. Honor the past 24 hours victims with action. #VoteThemOut
The #MoLeg has the power to change this. @TracyMcCreery introduced a red flag law bill last session. Our legislators did NOTHING and the bill never saw the light of day.
Our hearts are with the Texas Delegation here at #GSU2019, who will be supporting their communities when they arrive home tomorrow from Washington DC. This is why we do this. https://t.co/wE08uLLsgl
“I started following MDA on Facebook in fall of 2015— I never thought that a few months later our own school would experience a shooting. We added bullet proof glass and an extra officer. Then the board passed a resolution to arm teachers” -Erin Gabbard, Ohio
“We all love our cities, we know our streets. As a woman of color, a member of the LBGTQ community, and native San Franciscan, we succeeded in getting more funding for the communities hit hardest by gun violence”
“Just 20 miles from this room— the gun lobby’s biggest member, the NRA, is in full on meltdown mode. Lawsuits, firings, resignations, all I can say is it couldn’t have happened to nicer people” -@MikeBloomberg
“Know that you are making progress that you are making change that when they say it isn’t working the answer is To be continued!” - @BrendaMoss19#GSU2019
Never before has our country had a presidential forum singularly dedicated to addressing gun violence.
This year, @GiffordsCourage and @AMarch4OurLives are changing that. I can't wait to hear from 2020 candidates on how they’d #endgunviolence. https://t.co/lf9o0gGFGw
“Those kids didn’t just March. They talked to their dads and their grandpas, and they got people elected to the House of Representatives and they passed Universal Background Checks and that bill is sitting on McConnell’s desk because of the NRA” -@amyklobuchar#DemDebates
