Lemme answer this in 8 points. But let me begin from you. I want you all to tag him to this so that he can see this.
1. You composed a criticism of an important article of the Creed of the Catholic church. I really wish you didn't, but you, as a Christian decided to write that. Has the Catholic intercession of the saints ever stopped you from achieving your life's goal, or you decided to join the bandwagon of those who criticize the Catholic church for clicks?
2. The idea that the saints are dead or that asking for their prayers is a white man's invention fundamentally misunderstands both Scripture and ancient Christian history.
3. Jesus explicitly stated in the Gospels that God "is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him" (Luke 20:38). Because Christ defeated death, those who die in faith are more alive today in heaven than we are on earth.
4. The Church is just one big family. If you can ask your friend on earth to pray for you, you can definitely ask your older siblings in heaven to do the same. Plus, African saints like St. Augustine were doing this centuries before European colonization even started.
5. Saying this is a white man's idea makes no sense because African Traditional Religion (ATR) does the exact same thing. In ATR, people respect and talk to their Ancestors (the living-dead), asking them to intercede with God for protection. Catholicism and African tradition actually agree here: the people who lived good lives before us still look out for us.
6. In real life, if you want a job, a visa, or a favor, you look for a connection, someone with influence who can put in a good word for you. That’s all intercession is. It’s not worship. It is just utilizing your network in high places. Just as you used your connection to arrest that unfortunate guy who insulted your wife.
7. The idea that you either pray or fight is a false choice. Praying doesn't mean you sit back and do nothing. Some of the biggest fighters in history, like St. Joan of Arc or St. Oscar Romero, were deeply spiritual. Prayer isn't an excuse to quit. It is the fuel that gives you the strength to stand up and fight your battles.
8. At the end of the day, everyone has their own way of connecting with God and finding strength. Mocking how someone else worships doesn't make anyone stronger. Respecting people's faith is just basic human decency.

I am officially a Catholic! Truly blessed to receive the body and blood of my Lord Jesus Christ and to be confirmed into the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Photo of my priest, Father Dave, me, and my sponsor Tom.
You know why I love this app? It’s because you get to learn things whether you like it or not.
Only from this tweet have I learned that the movie “Gang Of Lagos” is in court for a costume they used in the movie. The producers (and Amazon) got hit with a lawsuit from the Isale-Eko Descendants Union over how the movie portrayed the Eyo Masquerade and the Isale-Eko community. The court basically ruled they misrepresented the culture, turning a revered tradition into something tied to gangs and violence. They were ordered to publicly apologize, and there were calls to pull the film.
Also, I was reminded of the past times where a movie is released and the producers get sued because they tried to be real with every element of the acting and the public calls for the movie to be taken down. The wonders you see in Nigeria!
A movie was made and all everyone is more concerned about is the prison uniform worn on set, not the acting and execution. Just because it didn’t suit your supposed narrative, you all labeled it “unfit and poor researching” instead of calling out your government that loves hiding its failures in poor policies and intimidation.
Well, what do I know? But one thing I know is I’m definitely watching this movie. Did you all see the actors’ lineup? Menhhhh 🔥
This is Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Victoria Island, Lagos.
One thing the Catholic Church understands so well is sacred beauty. You walk in and immediately feel drawn into prayer and the presence of God.
I love people who make others feel included. Such an underrated quality. In a world where so many people feel unseen, kindness and inclusion really do matter 🤍
Lol, why would I delete it?
Back in 2020, because of the exceptional performance of Seyi Makinde during his first term, I said he had the qualities to be President. Fast forward to 2023, while he was contesting for reelection as governor, Peter Obi came on the scene and, based on his track record, I volunteered to be his campaign photographer pro bono because I genuinely believed he was fit for the job.
I didn’t stop at taking pictures. I went back to my polling unit on election Day, voted, bought snacks, and encouraged people to stay until every single vote was counted. Peter Obi won there too. For context, that polling unit is close to the PDP national secretariat in AkwaIbom, and Udom Emmanuel was the PDP campaign DG.
In 2025, I returned and continued my work as his photographer. So why exactly should I be ashamed that I saw visionary leadership in 2020 and wanted it at the national level?
Unlike some political jobbers who once praised Peter Obi and later switched up, I’ve never changed my stance on Seyi Makinde. I’ve never insulted or disrespected him.
I’m not just a supporter of Peter Obi, I work for and with him. He has the capacity to lead this country, and Seyi Makinde does too, based on proven track records.
At the end of the day, it’s better for productive and competent people to contest elections than to leave leadership in the hands of drug dealers, certificate forgers, and people with no traceable background.
I want a Nigeria that works and I’m happy the race is competitive, unlike the coronation some people were hoping to have.
Terrorists have abducted an unknown number of students from Mussa primary & junior secondary school in Askira-Uba, Borno, while classes were in session. The exact headcount of the abducted students is still unclear. No official response from the Nigerian government yet.
Waking up to news like this almost everyday is traumatic.
