🍄 $OPTH | Optimi Health has completed production and quality release of a new batch of its 5mg naturally derived psilocybin capsules, manufactured through the company’s in-house cGMP operations.
What makes this batch particularly notable is where it’s going.
The same product is being supplied for a Health Canada-authorized Phase 2 study in Major Depressive Disorder, expected to enroll up to 200 patients, while also supporting commercial supply to authorized clinics in Australia treating patients with treatment-resistant depression.
That creates an interesting overlap between Optimi’s clinical development and existing commercial operations. Manufacturing, encapsulation and quality release are being handled internally, giving the company control over more of the pharmaceutical supply chain as these programs advance.
Alongside the production update, $OPTH appointed Melanie Pump to its Board of Directors. Pump brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience across technology, digital infrastructure, software, fintech and emerging-growth companies.
Taken together, the recent developments show Optimi continuing to build across multiple parts of the business at once — clinical development, regulated commercial supply, in-house manufacturing and corporate leadership.
The next thing worth following is how that infrastructure translates as the Phase 2 program progresses and commercial distribution expands.
