On June 6, 1944, James Earl Rudder '32 successfully led his men up the cliffs at Pointe Du Hoc as part of the D-Day invasion of Normandy.
Rudder would later become the 16th President of @TAMU, laying the groundwork for its transformation from a small, all-male military school to the premier institution of higher education it is today.
Texas A&M HC Mike Elko on his emotions after the game:
"I'm not lost for words very much, but I was lost for words with the team in the locker room after that game. Just a lot of that emotion was pride in who they were, how they conducted themselves. Again, there's not a lot of teams that have a culture and a core that will just keep going."
