Trans people are under constant attack and threat. If you consider yourself a leftist of any sort or a decent human being your job is to body block for them, sometimes literally.
Horrors of Communism showcased:
On the left is German Jagerschnitzel. Very good comforting meal if you can get it. On the right is the Communist East German "Jagerschnitzel" made up of several slices of a giant hotdog (you got a comically sized hotdog known as State Sausage for your ration) that's deep fried. The side is box noodles with ketchup as the sauce.
Nothing shows off leftism than this shit. Instead of a home cooked meal made with love. You get food a Methhead would make in their hotel from money they got stealing copper. With the insistence they're the same and it's all subjective to add insult to injury.
@AuntieSmoke@LumpyTheCook The more serious indications of societal decline aren't as felt as widespread media saturation. Indeed, I think it could be argued the latter is what caused the former. The revolution will not be televised but neither will the decline until things start literally collapsing.
@beezageeza Not trying to dunk on him even tho I made an effortpost thread, but honestly I do find it strange people feel so strongly about this subject. It's not something new, people have complained about the TNG films and Generations in particular for this specific thing.
I like the Enterprise-E and I don't think the destruction of the -D in orbit of Veridian 3 was the worst decision ever. Reusing Chang's Bird-of-prey destruction was worse than that. The Enterprise-D should have fought off a Romulan Warbird instead.
For many every time they saw the 'E' they replaced it in there head with the 'D'. JTVFX has modelled what so many have been saying for so long: the destruction of the ENTD was one of the worst decisions in the franchise and TNG was loosing its way through the big screen.
Generations is a flawed film but this is one of the most affective aspects of it that I can't hate it. We're born, we live, we breathe, then we die, sometimes unfairly, but life goes on for those that survive. Similar theme with Picard's nephew and brother's offscreen deaths.
with the promise that there will be another ship to carry the line. Generations is about sacrificing oneself or one's love to do something heroic. Kirk dies doing something heroic but the Enterprise-B continues; the TNG crew do something similar but the -D dies instead.
@turdintl If they felt bad they would be doing something about it.
I don't listen to politicians anymore. All they do is fucking lie. What matters is what they do, and Penny has been doing a big fat nothing for years about it.
This shows that Germany obviously still doesn't get it: their "historical responsibility" isn't to support Israel even as they commit genocide.
When the lesson of Nazism is obviously a universal one about justice, they instead think it's a blood debt to a particular people.
Which is, when you think about it, the Nazi way of looking at it: hierarchizing peoples and assigning collective responsibility - or collective impunity - on that basis.
Yes but it's not actually sincere. It's completely cynical and weaponised 'guilt' that nobody in the ruling class actually feels. Like another reply said you can't correct for a genocide you've committed by supporting another genocide a lot of German arms have been used in.
@RnaudBertrand Itβs hard to appreciate from abroad how deeply the overcorrection to βmake up for past mistakesβ is ingrained in the political psyche of Germany. Itβs bizarre to see a country operate on the mentality of a child thatβs trying to behave well after they messed up.
