@Mr_VandenPlas A5: I think that it comes from making it a standard that your classroom is a safe place for students and being very conscious and aware when picking out what materials to use with your students #debriefgrief
@Mr_VandenPlas A2: I totally agree with Dr. Meymand I just want to make it a known that my classroom is a safe place and students are comfortable coming to me for whatever. And everyday do my best to be the positive energy they may need #debriefgrief
@KevinPe86942331 A5: I think this largely depends on the size of the school but I would say 5 minutes. This would give me enough to grab my materials from my locker and get to class with sometimes a minute or two to talk to friends #pushitback
@sncdveselik I am soo down for later starts. A teacher may like the extra time to prepare but not the later nights, students would love the extra sleep but also may not like how late extracurriculars go- may be harder to get rides from parents #pushitback
@Mr_VandenPlas@sarahellensanks Totally agree. My high school even had a zero hour students could sign up for to take a class before school started (gym or science lab) - would start at 6:55! #pushitback
@Mr_VandenPlas A3: My high school did nothing really. We moved the start and end time back 3 mintues my soph year-- big woo! We had no special late start days either. #pushitback
@EmilyWeise1@KevinPe86942331 I totally agree with you Emily. It would be hard when different students may be missing different days. All students would constantly be in different places. yikes! #pushitback
@KevinPe86942331 Looking at the alternative of missing the same class multiple times a week I think it is fine. Teachers also need to understand the validity and benefits of extracurriculars for adolescents. I would have preferred this in high school!! #pushitback
@Bethany34077390@sncdveselik YESS! I think that breakfast and morning routines can have a major impact and by pushing back start times we can give kids ample opportunity to complete these while also getting good sleep
@sncdveselik A1: My best start time is def around 10am so I have time to actually wake up and eat breakfast- things I would skip if had earlier classes. Do get distracted if too late in afternoon tho #pushitback
