If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling
lies. Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil. (1 Peter 3:10-12)
Happy Sunday to y’all.
I was just a young girl when I went to G.G.C Kaho, a very big girls secondary school in Kaduna State. From the outside, the school looked peaceful, tall walls, neat uniforms, and the promise of education. But inside, it was a place I will never forget.
The compound was large and surrounded by bushes and sometimes snakes would find their way into the hostels. One day, a snake bit one of the women who cooked for us, I remember the screams and the panic how we all stood frozen, too afraid to move. From that day, I started bathing quickly, my heart racing every time I stepped into the bathroom, scared that a snake might be waiting.
But that wasn’t the only fear. Some nights, terrible things happened, things too dark for any young girl to witness or understand. There were girls who were hurt, who were taken advantage of. Some got pregnant, and whispers spread through the hostel about what happened to them afterwards. Those stories haunted me for years.
The seniors were wicked too. They bullied us, shouted, and punished us for little mistakes. I was always quiet, always scared. I counted the days, hoping that someone, maybe my guardian would visit me. But she never came, My parents were far away in Lagos, and I felt alone in that huge, frightening school.
After three long years, I couldn’t take it anymore. One day, I decided to run away. My heart was beating fast, but I didn’t look back. I went straight to the park and begged someone to let me sit on their lap from Kaduna all the way to Lagos. I didn’t even have money, only fear and hope.
That was the last time I saw G.G.C Kaho.
Even though the memories still hurt, I’m proud of the courage I had that day — the courage to save myself.

I don’t like Davido at all cause he’s bigger than me and I’ve tried everything possible to make sure I have a bigger level than him which is why I’m in a competition with him.
