I stay out the way because I done seen what people will do to somebody who was nothing but solid to them. I done trusted people I never thought I had to watch and they showed me exactly why I should’ve. After enough betrayal, you quit assuming everybody got the same heart as you. I don’t trust easy anymore. I’d rather stay to myself than keep giving genuine love to people who don’t know how to be genuine back.
I always try and give people the benefit of the doubt when I should’ve went with my first mind. People really take my kindness for weakness when I have a whole pit bull inside my body with no emotions.
Nobody prepares you for how much quieter you become in your 30s. You stop needing to be seen, chosen, understood, or validated. You just want to feel rested, regulated, grounded, and at peace.
Once someone is no longer in my life, it’s almost like the entire relationship disappears with them. The memories feel distant and unreal, like something I imagined rather than lived.
I don't think people understand... You can literally drive someone to a point of not wanting to be bothered with you at all, on any level. Whether it's a friendship, relationship, family, etc. There's only so much a person can take.
