Today, our Sheroes underwent another laser surgery as part of their ongoing skin reconstruction and healing journey, under the supervision of Dr. Shivangi Saha.
Every procedure is a step forward in a long and challenging journey of healing from acid violence. The process is not limited to physical recovery. It also takes immense emotional and mental strength to keep moving forward, one procedure at a time.
This is not a one-day process. Several more surgeries are still needed, and every step demands patience, courage and determination. Yet, our Sheroes continue to show up, face each challenge and choose hope, even on the hardest days.
Their scars are a testament to survival. Their resilience is a reflection of their strength. And their journeys remind us why the fight against acid violence must continue.
At Chhanv Foundation, we stand with our Sheroes today and always, supporting them through every step of their healing and working towards a future where no one has to endure the cruelty of acid violence.
At the Vision to Impact CSR Conclave 2026, organised by People for Action, voices from across the social impact ecosystem came together to discuss how collective action can translate into meaningful change.
Representing Chhanv Foundation, our COO @ajeetsingh2110, along with @SaaRoopa79622, participated in a powerful panel discussion alongside fellow changemakers and NGO representatives working relentlessly to address the heinous crime of acid violence and support survivors on their journey towards justice, rehabilitation and dignity.
The discussion was not just about the challenges survivors continue to face, but about what needs to change and how we can collectively make that change happen.
From healthcare and rehabilitation to legal support, economic empowerment and social acceptance, creating a survivor-centric ecosystem requires stronger collaboration between NGOs, governments, corporates and communities.
We extend our gratitude to People for Action for creating a platform where these critical conversations can come together, voices can be amplified, and ideas can move towards action.
Because one voice can start a conversation.
Collective voices can create change.
And together, we can turn vision into impact.

Following Raksha Bandhan, our Sheroes team had the opportunity to meet @dr_pankaj05 at @SJHDELHI and share our heartfelt greetings along with a special Sheroes Store amper, thoughtfully crafted by our Sheroes especially for him.
Every meeting with him leaves us with a renewed sense of motivation, courage and hope.
He has been one of the most important pillars in the journey of ophthalmological surgeries and treatment for our Sheroes, playing a meaningful role in their journey towards healing, confidence and greater independence.
The hamper was our small way of expressing a much bigger feeling: the love and gratitude of the Sheroes whose lives have been touched by his expertise, care and compassion.
Some bonds go beyond occasions. They are built through trust, support and the courage to stand by each other, every step of the way.

We were honoured to represent Chhanv Foundation and @SheroesHangout at LIFT – Leading into the Future of Technology, Hexaware Technologies’ (@HexawareGlobal) annual leadership and learning gathering, held at the Siruseri Campus in Chennai.
Our COO @ajeetsingh2110, and Soniya Khan epresented the organisation and joined an engaging fireside conversation with Hexaware’s Future Leaders, Executives and Management Team.
The conversation brought together perspectives on leadership, resilience, inclusion and meaningful social change, while sharing our journey and the transformative work of Sheroes Hangout.
From enabling survivors to rebuild their confidence and independence to creating opportunities through skill development, employment, entrepreneurship and community-led change, the conversation highlighted how purpose-driven work can create impact far beyond individual lives.
For us, leadership is not just about building organisations. It is about creating opportunities, challenging stereotypes and ensuring that every individual has the space and support to lead a life of dignity and choice.
We are grateful to Hexaware Technologies (@HexawareGlobal) for bringing us into this meaningful conversation and for creating a platform where stories of resilience could inspire the leaders of tomorrow.

Last week, at our Kolkata Centre, we organised a Canvas Painting session for our new survivors as part of an Art Therapy and skill development activity.
The session was designed to provide more than just a creative outlet. Through the process of planning a design, choosing colours, handling painting tools, and working on the canvas, the survivors got an opportunity to develop focus, hand-eye coordination, patience, creativity, and attention to detail.
At the same time, engaging in a hands-on activity helped them feel more comfortable in the new environment, interact with fellow survivors, and express themselves freely.
We believe that skill development begins by creating opportunities to learn, explore and build confidence. Activities like these help our survivors discover their abilities while taking meaningful steps towards rehabilitation, self-reliance, and greater independence.

Happy Teachers’ Day!
Today, we celebrate not just those who teach from books, but everyone who helps another person learn, evolve, grow and become independent.
A heartfelt Happy Teachers’ Day to all our supporters, volunteers and partners who have stood beside our Sheroes, shared their knowledge, opened doors of opportunity, and helped them discover their potential and build a life of greater confidence and independence.
And a very special Happy Teachers’ Day to our Sheroes, who continue to teach the world lessons that no textbook can ever capture: the true meaning of courage, resilience, strength, hope, self-belief and the power to fight back.
Because sometimes, the greatest teachers are those who have faced the toughest battles and still choose to rise, rebuild and inspire others.
Today, tell us who is someone who taught you a lesson that changed your life? Tag them in the comments and let them know how grateful you are.
Here’s to learning from one another, growing together, and creating a world where every lesson leads to greater possibilities.

We had the privilege of meeting Tmt. M. Laxmi, IAS, Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Tamil Nadu, for an important and encouraging conversation on strengthening disability inclusion and support systems across the state.
The discussion focused on understanding the existing ecosystem, identifying gaps in access to rehabilitation, assistive support, healthcare, opportunities and other essential services, and exploring ways to build a stronger and more coordinated support network for persons with disabilities.
The Commissioner’s encouraging response and openness towards strengthening support systems across Tamil Nadu marked an important step towards creating a more accessible, inclusive and equitable ecosystem. The possibility of collaboration with @amarseva, along with government and rehabilitation stakeholders, can further contribute towards creating greater access to support and opportunities.
The interaction also highlighted the importance of a structured, state-wide approach to disability inclusivity, one that brings together identification, access, rehabilitation, empowerment and continued support.
For us, meaningful inclusivity goes beyond accessibility. It is about creating systems where every individual is valued, supported and empowered to participate with dignity and move towards greater independence.
One conversation can open a door. Together, we can work towards making those doors accessible to all. ❤️

Exploring Possibilities, Advancing Inclusion. ♿️✨
Our COO Ajeet Singh, along with Soniya Khan, recently visited the Museum Of Possibilities, Chennai, an inspiring initiative bringing together assistive technology, rehabilitation, innovation and inclusive design to create greater independence, dignity and participation for persons with disabilities.
Located within the Tamil Nadu State Commissionerate for Welfare of the Differently Abled, the Museum is an initiative of the Government of Tamil Nadu and is currently run and managed by @amarseva. The space offers a unique opportunity to experience how assistive technologies, adaptive devices and thoughtful modifications can make a meaningful difference in everyday life.
What made the visit particularly insightful was seeing how innovation can range from advanced technology-enabled solutions to simple, practical adaptations, all designed around the individual needs of persons with disabilities. It was a powerful reminder that accessibility is not just about providing a device, but about creating possibilities for greater independence and participation.
During the visit, our team had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with the dedicated Amar Seva Sangam and Museum team:
Mr. Mercury, Coordinator
Ms. Ligiya, Physiotherapist
Ms. Bhavani, Physiotherapist
Ms. Pradisha, Museum Assistant
Mr. Kenzer Bing, Museum Assistant
We sincerely thank the entire team for the warm interaction, insightful demonstrations and for sharing their experiences and knowledge with us.
For us, this visit was more than an exploration of assistive technology. It was an opportunity to learn, connect and recognise the importance of collaboration between government institutions, rehabilitation professionals, innovators, organisations and persons with disabilities in building a more accessible and inclusive society.
We deeply appreciate the efforts of @amarseva in running and managing this important space and look forward to exploring meaningful opportunities for collaboration.
When we create possibilities, we create pathways to independence. 🌱

Yesterday at our Kolkata Centre, we spent a meaningful day listening, connecting, creating, and learning together.
Our one-day orientation program created a safe and welcoming space for survivors to openly share their needs, aspirations, future plans, and dreams. The session also introduced them to the support and opportunities available through our work, helping them understand the different ways we can stand beside them in their journey ahead.
The day took a creative turn with a fun painting activity, where colours became a way to express thoughts, emotions, and imagination. From exploring their aspirations to creating beautiful canvas paintings, the session was a reminder that every journey of rebuilding also deserves space for expression, confidence, and joy. 🎨✨
Here, we continue to work towards creating pathways where survivors can move forward with dignity, independence, and the freedom to dream again.

Art & Craft sessions give our Sheroes an opportunity to explore their creativity, learn new techniques and express themselves through colours, shapes and handmade creations. Beyond creativity, these activities help nurture patience, concentration, imagination and confidence.
Every creation is more than just a craft—it reflects the effort, learning and growing confidence of the person behind it.
This initiative is also a part of the Aadhar Kishori Kalyan Project, supported through the CSR initiative of @AadharHousing, contributing towards the holistic development and empowerment of our Sheroes.
Skill development builds confidence, but education builds the foundation for a brighter future. 📚✨
At Sheroes, we believe that learning should go beyond vocational skills. Along with developing practical skills, our Sheroes also engage in regular learning sessions where they explore a different subject each day. This routine helps strengthen their knowledge, curiosity, confidence and overall personal growth.
Because true empowerment is not just about learning a skill, it is about creating opportunities to learn, grow and become more independent every day. ❤️
This initiative is also a part of the Aadhar Kishori Kalyan Project, supported through the CSR initiative of @AadharHousing, helping us create a stronger foundation for holistic development and empowerment.

Acid attacks are preventable, and prevention requires more than punishment after an attack has already occurred. Strict regulation of acid sales, responsible handling, effective enforcement and public awareness are all essential to reducing the risk of acid misuse.
In a recent matter before the Supreme Court, the Court sought responses from the concerned authorities on a plea seeking stronger restrictions, including a possible ban on the retail sale of acid. The proceedings also highlighted the role that NGOs and organisations can play in creating awareness about the dangers and misuse of acid.
For acid attack survivors, stronger regulation is especially significant. Preventing easy access to corrosive substances can be an important part of addressing the root of the problem, while effective implementation of existing safeguards remains equally important.
At Chhanv Foundation, we believe that the fight against acid violence must work on multiple fronts: prevention, legal awareness, survivor rights, rehabilitation and access to justice. Every survivor deserves support to rebuild their life with dignity, and every community deserves stronger systems that help prevent such attacks in the first place.
Awareness can prevent. Regulation can protect. Accountability can bring change.

In August, we organized a truly special and empowering workshop at our Noida centre for our sheroes, in collaboration with @bkccad - Blossom Kochhar College of Creative Arts & Design, New delhi
The expert trainers demonstrated essential basic skin care methods and techniques, sharing valuable knowledge about self-care and confidence.
Our survivors participated with immense enthusiasm and curiosity, and learned hands-on by practicing the methods themselves. It was a day full of learning, self-love, and new skills!
A heartfelt thank you to the team of @bkccad for this wonderful collaboration.

An engagement was called off. That should have been the end of it. Instead, it allegedly became the beginning of a nightmare for two women.
In Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, a man allegedly went to his former fiancée’s home after their marriage alliance was called off and threw acid at her. The engagement was reportedly cancelled after her family raised concerns over his alleged drug addiction. When her sister tried to intervene and protect her, she too was injured.
Think about the cruelty of it. A woman and her family exercised their right to say no to a marriage they did not feel was right for her. And allegedly, instead of accepting that decision, the accused chose violence.
A woman's “NO” is not an insult. Rejection is not a justification for revenge. An engagement is not ownership. Marriage is not consent to control another person's life.
Yet once again, acid has allegedly been used as a weapon to punish women for making their own choices.
Two women are now receiving specialised medical treatment in Meerut, carrying physical and emotional trauma that they never asked for. Their lives have been disrupted because someone allegedly decided that his anger mattered more than their safety.
This is exactly why acid violence cannot be treated as just another crime story. Acid attacks are devastating acts of violence that can leave survivors facing years of medical procedures, psychological trauma, social stigma, financial hardship, and an uncertain road to recovery.
And the bigger question remains: why is acid still accessible enough to be used in attacks like this?
Laws and regulations mean nothing if they are not effectively enforced. Justice cannot wait until the scars become another forgotten headline.
The family deserves accountability. The survivors deserve immediate medical support, protection, dignity, and justice. Every accused must face the full force of the law, and every survivor must have access to long-term rehabilitation and support.
Do not let this story disappear from your timeline.
Share it. Speak about it. Demand accountability. Demand strict enforcement of acid-sale regulations. Demand swift investigation and justice.
